I am disturbed and saddened by the recent events also. Unfortunately they will become more common and severe in the future because no one will do anything about it but cry and turn their heads. It is just something we will have to deal with. I hope and pray that a solution can be found but it probab...

Need advice on Black Bear.
I have never wanted to shoot a bear because I always heard they were no good to eat. I have met some people over the years though that realy seem to enjoy it. Plus the bears around my fathers cabin are becoming a real nusance. They don't seem to have any fear of humans and they eat or tear up everyt...

effectivness of carbon clothing?
I have used scent blocker clothing for years now and my father has used scent lock. I have always noticed a definate smell coming from them, especialy when they are new and after they are washed with carbon soap. Have any of you noticed a smell too? I am thinking that carbon camo may block human and...

I have tried many cover scents over the years. I havn't realy been impressed by many of them. I currently use H.S. scents fresh earth wafers along with pine needles and dirt that I get from the ground and put in a bag with my camo. I have used skunk scent before and it seemed like it didn't work wel...

Good Lord, Thats a big snake!!! I never dreamed rattlers got that big. If I came face to face with that thing in the woods he wouldn't have to bite me, I would fall over dead from shock. It may just be able to eat me after that too. Thanks for sharing Bstout. He looks like he is still alive, is he? ...

Nothing beats grilling. :D :D I grill about twice a week. Recently I have been using the natural wood chips that are baked untill they become black instead of charcoal. They work great, and give the meat a little smokey flavor but cook hotter than charcoal so I am still adjusting my cooking times. I...

Someone mentioned this on another thread. You can put a ziplock bag over the arrows in your quiver to keep your feathers dry. It works well. If your feathers do get wet and matted down then hold them in the steam from a pot of boiling water when you get home and they will come right back. I havn't t...

My father uses one and it works great. We always make sure we have a tarp though so we can wrap the deer up before we tie it down. Too many anti's around here and we don't need anymore. If you use it, remember to pay extra close attention if you are ever pulling in or backing out over drainage ditch...

To each his own I guess. Congrats on the good shot and clean kill Grizz and congrats to you widowman for your high standards and strict ethics. Neither of you are wrong for your views, just different. If Grizz had tried that shot at a farther distance on a bigger deer with a weaker bow, then I would...

Eck, Try contacting the Northern Virginia (Archers or Archery) Assoaciation if you can find them. They are in Faifax county next to Fountainhead Regional Park. Probably not too far from you. I used to be a member a real long time ago and their range is great. I have no idea what their stance is on x...
