Re: boaters card
Absolutely a money grab, in Ontario at least. I've been operating small powered boats for over 45 years now, accident and incident free. I can see a proper license being a bit of use for someone under 18 maybe, including a practical exam, but a simple 20 question test is completely useless. At least...

Re: Never thought....
I am taking the program at Ontario Truck Driving School. Heard many many good things about them. I know they've been great with helping me get going and stuff. Are you in the London area? I took the truck driver course from these guys back about 10 years ago, and yes, they were pretty good. Helped ...

Re: Arrow question
I also didn't think the 2419s would fit, as Boo indicated. But if they do, you could likely use them. However, I don't think I would risk using point inserts as nocks - in that size they they taper in a bit to a thinner point diameter (11/32) and it's possible your string might duck under the shaft ...

ch312: I didn't say the fishing was "no good", I said it "wasn't the greatest". That would be compared to wilderness areas farther north where you're hauling something in on every cast. Simcoe can be good fishing, but you have to know where to go and unless you're hiring a guide ...

Re: O/T Trip to Oro-Medonte Canada
Not much in the news about ticks at all. What month are you planning? Blackflies are about done, but the mosquitos will be around til the fall. If you're driving via Niagara Falls, maybe see if you can get yourself an invite to the Excalibur factory - less than an hour out of your way. Stuff to do i...

Weber's Burgers is a must-do esperience. ( for people who know it  ) Elwood Epps outdoors store is worth a look. Plenty of good golf and of course water activities. Not the greatest fishing, as it's not really a remote area. http://www.oro-medonte.ca/ Maybe you can get a boat over to Boo...

I don't believe it's anything for a special purpose. It's just a copper pot with a lid designed so you can drain the liquid off using only one hand instead of having to hold a lid separately.

Re: conservative agenda / long gun registry
I'm looking at it from the point of view of the poor SOBs who work at gun shops  and will needlessly have to go through yet another season of the hassle of registering gun purchases, for no particular reason except to do it because they haven't gotten around to repealing the legislation. Kind o...

Re: conservative agenda / long gun registry
The Long Gun Registry can't 'just die'. The bill to kill it must be written in such a manner that a future party in power can not just reverse the decision. The legislation must be completely air tight. That, is why it is going to take until the Fall session before such a bill comes out. When it do...

Re: fun day
First off you need to get the "on my plate next to the potatoes" sticker.
Then set up a 3D deer target in the garden.
Then a deer mount inside the house, visible to them through a window facing their house.
Have fun!

Re: Crazy Idea - Need Input
I'm absolutely not flaming him. I'm simply answering the question he posted. He asked for input, so I gave it. I'm sorry if he didn't like my reply. He posted asking if people would buy a knife sight unseen: "So do you trust me? Are you willing to take a chance?" Well, I would certainly tr...

Re: Crazy Idea - Need Input
I'm curious why you'd even want to sell a knife in that manner. What's the advantage?
I wouldn't buy one that way, even knowing the quality. Then again, I wouldn't buy a top quality knife based on pictures alone anyways. I'd need to handle it, feel the grip, the balance, the weight first.
