I pre stretch my #1989 strings. I stretch them with a small block and tackle deer hoist and a 300 pound deer weighing spring scale. I load the string up to 250 lb on the scale and leave it for 24 hours. I wax it good while it's being stretched. I don't know if this pre stretch proceedure really buys...

Broadhead style recommendation for turkey hunting
I have not shot an arrow at a turkey before and would like some recommendation on the type or style of broadhead to use. I see 2 main styles: 1) - a standard deer hunting head like excalibur's "Boltcutter" with which you would aim at the body (vitals ) of the bird. 2) - a huge 3 or 4 blade...

If (big if) the dissipator pads are made out of the same kind of jelly plastic that fisherman's artificial worms/baits are made from then their will be a problem with the pad touching anything plastic or painted. I had always wondered what fishing tackle box manufacturers meant by saying their plast...

Do you want to cut aluminum shafts or carbon shafts? If your cutting carbon an abrasive wheel cut off saw would be the way to go. But if your cutting aluminum and are only cutting a few shafts then you could do like I have done for years. I insert the smooth top of a appropriate sized drill bit into...

To start off do like poster Cossack recommend and just use the strung bow while it's removed from the stock/rail assembly. Later you can make up a jig like the ones picture in previous post. I just stretch my string with a small rope winch. A come-along ratchet winch would work too. 2 large eye hook...
