Re: Flemish String -FPS increase
I wouldn't have expected that. Was it a factory flemish you tried? Blackjack and I done some work shooting through a double chronys setup the other week with Excel, factory flemish, homemade flemish fastflight, flemish Boostring, and homemade astro flemish. Using the same brace height, the excal da...

Re: Flemish String -FPS increase
End of July. No worry here. I think the wait is pretty typical. Especially during this time of the year. I know it will be worth the wait.

Re: Flemish String -FPS increase
My string is still stretching, so I reset the brace height....309 FPS! Once the string settles in I think I might be able to add a few more. I really don't understand it, I wish I did. Maybe someone on the forum can enlighten me.

Flemish String -FPS increase
I have been shooting an Ibex with the factory string and getting 286-288 FPS with a 408 gr. arrow. I decided to change to a Flemish string, just to see the difference. I shot a dozen shots, let the string stretch overnight and reset my brace height. I decided to chronograph, after cleaning the rail ...

Re: Best way to quiet an Excalibur?
Ear plugs increased my accuracy, when I began shooting my Ibex. I don't wear them now and do not hear a thing, unless I try to. I just concentrate on holding the crosshairs steady.

Re: arrow removal
Gendoc and Wabi are "spot" on. I just purcahsed a Rinehart rhinoblock and shooting twice as many arrows because they are so easy to pull!! Danny's arrow pullers are second to none, I use them but really don't have to. I feel that by using them I am putting less stress on the arrow/componen...

Re: Is Speed Important
Interesting post, and one that generally, creates many opinons. That is why it IS interesting. I am amazed at what gives people confidence in their sport. For one it's speed, for another it's accuracy, etc., etc. Well, I have come to the conclusion that we are all right and all have a unique blend tha...

Re: Cossack You Made Think (Vixen II vs. Ibex): What Is Conf
Sorry, again. This was NOT supposed to be about self imposed limits. But what makes you confident? I would not take an unethical shot or one that that is "iffy". It would have to one where I felt reasonably certain (confident) that I could make the shot. Yeah, this turning into a bad threa...

Re: Cossack You Made Think (Vixen II vs. Ibex): What Is Conf
We all have self imposed realistic limits and we should. Maybe I can ask another way. If you are confident at 40 yds are you confident at 42 yds? I am just saying that if I had the opportunity to shoot at something at a range,I normally would not, I would. IF it was a lifetime oppportunity and I had...

Cossack You Made Think (Vixen II vs. Ibex): What Is Confiden
Having confidence in your equipment is one thing and having confidence in shooting ability is another. You can have crossbow hitting dimes at thirty yards with practice. You hunt and have a self-imposed limit of 30 yards. But what do you do when that “rack of a lifetime” presents itself at 40 yards....

Here we go again: VixenII vs, Ibex
I have been watching the crossbow sites for awhile now and would like to say hello. I am making the jump from vertical to horizontal this year and need your opinions on an Excalibur crossbow. I have narrowed it down to two crossbows, either the Vixen II or the Ibex. Easy decision? Not for me. Let gi...
