Re: Phoenix or Exocet 200

I have a vortex and a vixen. If I was going to have only one bow it would be the phoenix/ibex. The vortex/exocet gives a bit more speed than the phoenix and a flatter trajectory which is nice for longer shots which I don't take anyway. In many respects, I have more bow than I need with the 200 lb vo...

Re: x-act broadhead

I have used them for two seasons and taken three deer. Good passthroughs and blood. I'm not planning to switch to any other broadhead.

Re: My indoor archery Range

At the risk of sounding like a wet blanket, how do you know what (or who) is on the other side of the door ?

Re: Need a Used Vixen for a father's blind son

Aging, Recently we have had two reports, in Canada, of people scamming money by pretending to have cancer. Concerned folks, including friends and family, did fund raisers and turned the money over to the scammer. Happily both were caught out and charged. Could be this fellow is legit. If you find ou...

Re: 3 dot red dot scopes?

I have used a tru glo 3 dot. It is the middle dot which can be adjusted - the top and bottom dots are fixed. At 20 yards for the middle dot, I found that the top was approximately at 10 yds and the bottom approximately at 30 yds - not exactly in either case but close enough.

Re: Be careful out there

Those are instructive stories. I really enjoy using a tree stand (have two climbers and two ladder stands) but it is very easy to become complacent (translate "careless"). I am constantly amazed to meet guys who use a tree stand and do not use a safety harness. Bad things can happen to tho...

Re: Excalibur marketing dude

This has been a interesting exchange of views done politely. Nice to see. The concerns of the forum members have been set out clearly and fairly. Bill Ts explanation of the problems with the lumizone goes well beyond what you would ordinarily expect to hear. Similarily his explanation regarding the ...

Re: rhino

Crazyfarmer, thanks for the info. I expect that the bow would be free. I used to deer and moose hunt with this fellow when he was still able to move about in the bush. If there is no cost, and the bow is in working order, I could worry about replacement parts when the problem appears. I don't need t...

rhino

A friend of mine, a gentleman in his eighties, called and asked me if I wanted his crossbow. He was uncertain about what he had as he acquired it a couple of years ago in a trade for a chainsaw and never used it, but, he thought it was a "Rhino". Does anyone have an idea as to what he may ...

Horseradish - you have to love a site where the members discuss the big issues and actually exchange information. Where else could I learn this stuff ?

Re: Hawke Scopes

Farmer, I have a Hawke scope (with the red & green reticles - I think it is called the SR) on my Vortex. I got it last year from Gagnon Sports in Oshawa. I very much like it. Not hard to mount and easy to sight in. I especially like the fact that it is shorter than the Varizone and Lumizone. Spike
