Crossbow meeting in Montgomery.Alabama

I promise this is the last post I Will make about the hearing that was held yesterday. After 3 1/2 hours of sometimes boring comments and butt-numbing chairs, my brain went numb and some things that were said are just now coming to mind. Several statements made by the BHA leadership were really germ...

When will we know about the decision on Alabama crossbows?

Guys: There was so much said yesterday during the 3 1/2 hours of the hearing. It is hard to remembere al the details. I can tell you this: 1) There are approximately 70 days left before bow season in Alabama opens. 2) One thing I forgot to post was that the new Alabama Game and Fish regulations have...

The argument for crossbows presented in Montgomery, Alabama

This is the argument I presented in favor of crossbow hunting this morning at the public hearing in Montgomery, Alabama. It was well received. Striper 8/2/2004 Gentlemen: The current regulations dealing with crossbows in the State of Alabama mandate that a person must be handicapped to the extent th...

Back from the Montgomery, Alabama crossbow meeting!

The meeting started promptly at 10:00 this morning. About 40 people attended, and I expected the worst. The first speaker was pro-crossbow and presented a reasoned argument. For the most part, the anti-crossbow people were emotional, wandered in their spoken thoughts, and really looked pretty selfis...

Under-armor?

I just saw the posts about Polypropylene and Merino wool (bstout) and was interested to see if anyone has bought any of the so-called ultimate cold weather underwear called Under-armor. I read a revue in an outdoor magazine that indicated the stuff is really good. Any inormation, guys? Striper

RJ: We have 4 feeders scattere around our wrap around porch. We have 40-50 hummingbirds who spend the summer with us. I am now up to adding a Quart of sugar water to the 4 feeders every day. By the time they start their migration to South America, they look like pool balls. Striper

Shakky: I think there are at least 2 reasons people want the Exomax. Number 1- They anticipate going after heavy, big boned game. Number 2- It is the hottest thing around. I haven't considered buying one because with my messed up arm it is hard enough to cock the Exocet. It is like the Corvette. I a...
