Great discussion. I agree that shots at game should be limited to about 30 yards. I shoot an Exocet and have shot targets out to 45 yards and am amazed at how much the bolt drops between 30 and 40 yards. Try it sometime. Not only will you spook the animal trying long shots, you will likely have to g...

Alabama Poll on Crossbow Page on ALDEER Bowhunter Website
This is for Alabama crossbowers primarily, but can be of interest to crossbowers elsewhere. There is a hardnose, snotty v-bowers site in Alabama addressed aldeer.com This group of V-bowers is having a vote on whether to allow a crossbow webpage and a muzzleloader page on their precious website. They...

elk hunt in Colorado
Guys: Back from our elk hunt near Craig, Colorado! Five of us have returned from a really great hunt! Woody, you and I are almost too old to make this trip, but not quite. We hunted from 7,000 feet to 8300 feet; the terrain and large area to be covered required the use of 4-wheelers instead of horse...

Well said, Brayhaven! Carl, I want to suggest that you Vermontinians march down to Ohio and picket the factories that are polluting your air, or if you want to, you can do some civil disobedience, like all good liberals. OR, you can move to Alabama and enjoy clean air, see racial harmony that has ov...

Boy, Mike, You didn't have to post that poem! I had to bury my beloved Missy 7 years ago after she just ran out of gas at the age of 15 1/2 years. I don't think women can understand the relationship between men and their dogs. The last 3 months of Missie's life, I held her up so she could eat. Final...

 Come on, Carl. Why in God's name can you blame the President for dirty air in Ohio? Aren't the people in Ohio responsible for their air quality? Do you want a dictator in the White House to make us do right (or what he thinks is right)? The only hunter who can support John Kerry must be a fo...
