A bit of closure...
Some people know about the fact that I was a victim of fraud a few years ago when I 'sold' a crossbow to a 'member' of this forum (posing as a 'member' for the purpose of fraud, most likely) and had my crossbow stolen from me when payment was cancelled and the bow was already on its way. I haven't d...

Re: 6 day game but i won
Well done Terry. It's often very satisfying to finally drop a bird that hasn't cooperated over the course of a few hunts.
Enjoy your meal.

Re: Three Hunts, Two Down
CONGRATS on the two short hunts! I'll bet you've got that newbie fooled into thinking this turkey hunting stuff is easy. heh heh heh 8) I always love to see hunters taking new hunters out into the woods! I know we all feel protective of our often precious few hunting spots, but the future of huntin...

Three Hunts, Two Down
I wasn't supposed to hunt opening day, however, while driving to my in-law's place in the afternoon I spotted two toms on a property where I have taken a few over the years. A quick call to my mother-in-law gave me the go ahead to drop the kids off at her workplace, where the fastest car-seat move e...

VixChix Cheating on her Vixen
How could she, right? Tagged along with Vix to pattern my turkey gun, but got sidetracked by something cool. And, well, when a kind offer is made to try out a cool toy, you take that offer. http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i362/crooner2/10250318_10154055181180529_1271583237534137576_n_zps33d2e8b1...

Been in Kingston and Belleville for a couple years now. Rumour has it that all larger CT locations close to rural areas will be expanding their hunting sections.

Re: Realtree AP vs. Mossy Oak
Here's an interesting look at camo patterns:

For the record, my deer hunting cold weather outer layer is Rivers West in Mossy Oak Treestand. The grey in that pattern really blends in with the trees my stands are in.

Re: Scent-Loc Opinions..........
Here's a little science...
That 'activated carbon' impregnated suit you purchase at your local hunting store is already saturated with scents.
Your dryer will have to reach 1472 degrees fahrenheit in order to reactivate true activated carbon.

Re: Anybody ever eat raw venison?
I have done venison 'sashimi' before, having tried beef 'sashimi' when visiting family in Alberta. Just like fish used to make sashimi, one has to know their meat and quality markers in order to select what will be best for eating raw. Aging it for a few days is a must as well.

Re: HAPPY 50th BIRTHDAY to my hunting partner!
Remember to take that '50' with you to Boofest...I hear all it's good for is washing tires, so you can clean them all as people are leaving after the festivities.
Leave the stuff I brought over for your birthday at home. Too refined for tires...and the attendees.

Re: update on mother in law
My thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Lost my Mother three months ago after a four month battle with brain cancer. The road ahead is going to be a tough one. Find strength in each other and take the help from friends when it's offered.
