Re: Good morning hunt

Have you used small game heads with your crossbow to take the squirrels? I do not know about a treestand, but I would imagine in a ground blind you could even pack a pellet gun. Of course, you let the turkeys go so I imagine you do not care to maybe spook potential deer by popping some squirrels lo...

Recycling at its best

While out this morning I found the back half of the arrow I trashed Sunday on the hunt. :D When I got back home I hated to just throw it away so I came up with this idea. I needed something to help me from losing my shed keys (happens more often than you may think :? ) so I made me a key hold...

Good morning hunt

Had a good morning hunt today, even though I didn’t take anything this morning, I had the opportunity take a doe and just choose not to take it. About 8 am, I had two does, both of them small does; wander in to my stand from feeding in the field on top of the hill. One of them stopped broadside watc...

Re: How many came over to excal from compound x-bows?

After a tree stand accident in Early September 2007, I was down for a few days and unable to hunt with my bow due to a shoulder injury caused by the fall. A neighbor of mine had a PSE cooperhead and graciously offered it to me to use so that I wouldn’t have to go the rest of the season on the bench....

Re: I don't get it?

Personally, I think that if they insist on people who choose to hunt with a crossbow not being allowed to hunt with them during archery season, then we should just get back to the basics of bow hunting altogether and insist that bow sights, peeps, red dots and scopes be banned from archery equipmen...

Re: Second day Georgia doe

Panhandler80 wrote Nice. We had a bumber crop of acorns down here in NW Florida last year. Unfortunately, that never helps me out a lot due to my property's location and deer competing with bear for acorns, but it should mean some decent racks this winter. We open 10/22. I can't hunt opening day, bu...

Re: I don't get it?

Most of the bowhunter’s I know argue that it is an unfair advantage to fire the bow from the shoulder; it constitutes a rifle like weapon that they feel is out of place in bow season. But let’s look at the modern day compound bow for just a minute. With peep sights, bow sights, scopes and red dots t...

Re: Second day Georgia doe

congratulations on the harvest that is a nice deer what bow are you shooting ? did you hit the shoulder blade on the entry or exit? I am shooting the Phoenix again. It's more suited to where I hunt. I hit the shoulder on entry but didn't get a pass through. She broke the arrow off when she was wall...

Re: Ok, what is the hype over the thumbhole stock?

I have owned both the Thumbhole stock and the traditional style stock models. I totally agree that when shooting offhand the thumbhole stock models are by far, hands down more stable therefore making for a more accurate shot. For me though, with the way I hunt I find that the traditional stock is mo...
