This brings to mind this month's issue of Sports Afield... On the last pages was an article on "Crocodile Hunter" who was just killed by a sting ray. He was no naturalist and didn't teach anyone a mature appreciation of wildlife. These guys push the envelope for personal gains. You play yo...

Isn't it wonderful to know that we place our protective trust in these people who you called? They care about nothing but a paycheck on Friday and benefits.

As far as a rifle is concerned, 223 or 222 is bare minimum. Anything less is cruel since it will leave wounded animals to die on their own. If you can call them in close #4 Buck is a good choice from a 12 gauge. You can't use Hevi-Shot unless your shotgun barrel is hard enough to shoot steel. Hevi-S...

I have been a small animal veterinarian since 1983. Bought my own practice in 1984 and sold the real estate to a dentist in January 2005. Moved my practice over to my home after selling my building. I have a 30' X 80' Morton Building which I use about 30' X 40' for my hospital plus have surgery and ...

That's one of the reasons I got my CCW and generally try to keep my 44 Special Snubby close by. Yah just never freaking know what you're gonna get into when you get up in the morning.

Even worse than coyotes are feral hogs. Yes the "poor man's grizzly"! They are extremely destructive and if farmers grain or acorns are not available they go for deer, waterfowl, upland game birds, etc. Since they can smell an acorn buried 6" deep they get the ones the squirrels have ...

Comfy,

I like the string colors on the one you made me, but it might dress them up a little to have a few strands of orange mixed in too. Orange is a pleasing, happy color - many businesses use it to stimulate people to spend $$$.

We got a small sow in SC (about 250#) and the meat was great! Had been on acorns which so I hear makes the best flavored meat. Anyhow it was just like commercial pork but not as fat - which I liked. I have heard that the boars taste strong so since I generally hunt for the meat rather than trophy I ...

Can we spell F E U D? These people tramp on anyones land they want with no regard for laws. They figure if they can't understand the English language they also can't understand and have no respect for our laws. They live in settlements and only associate with themselves so there is no attempt to lea...

The HS of US is the most dangerous group we face. I just read an article on them in American Hunter magazine and they have major money to stop hunting with. Now we got anti-gun people back in US Government so once again it will be a fight to keep our heritage. Need to support the NRA with as much as...

Greywolf LOL They kicked me out of carwash one time. Freaking wouldn't let me hose here off in there! Too much mud hanging on her. Yah I know it is good to have that underside pressure washed to get the salt off but as warm as it's been here in Ohio this year there is no worry about that. Sucks! I n...

Cedrus I have a Sako Forrester in 243 and it is one of my favorite rifles. Just beautiful and when I first got it the darn thing was hitting all over the paper. I spend three hours with J&B cleaner and probably 100 patches and finally got all the copper fouling out. Took it back to the range and...

Wes, Yes there should be no problem with a 308 I love that caliber! I believe you can get a 110 grain bullet in 30 caliber. By the way that is a nice looking bear mount you have. Looks like my sow from this past year. Yes Grandpaws are wonderful. All of a sudden I find myself as a grandpaw. I been h...
