I use the stock iron sights on my rifled 870 and have taken my share of deer with it, my group sets me up in open fields and have had good hits at 100yrds.Some of the guys are getting good grouping even farther with those new remington slugs,as I have seen the pictures on this forum

I love a story with a happy ending Good story and deer I also use the rifled barrel 870 with sabots for the shotgun hunt about as deadly a setup as the excaliber x-bows.

Good to hear you piled them up!I just came back from the minden area and we had to work hard for the two we shot .I hope to have better luck here for the second shotgun hunt first week of december

I was there yesterday and I thought is was closed no cars around at all can I get in tomorow? or are they still shooting the film?

Shotgun starts here in the south nov5 for the first hunt some wmu's have a second hunt the first week of dec.I hunt that one in 89b cooler weather sometimes snow

I went out yesterday into a public land bush with my pop-up and set up.I snaped some small branches and did some grunts.I had an 8pt come into 60yds I didn't see him till I got bored and came out of the blind too early still had an hour or daylight

I was grunting and breaking up some small sticks yesterday and had a nice 8 pt come in,I was hunting a thick public land bush.The only problem was I did not see him come in,and I got busted by him when I got up to leave.The old saying should have waited a little longer before leaving
