Jim,I am no expert,but that does not sound like a good idea.Instead why don`t you squat down and straighten up using the string cocker(With your foot in the stirrup instead of bending over and pulling up)Your leg muscles are stronger than your arm or back.Good luck Huntz :D

The idea of a shot from a rifle I believe is that the kill is provided through blunt force trauma, with an arrow the kill is more acute in that it will cause the animal to bleed out. I hope this correct and helpfull! Blunt force trauma would be a baseball bat or a hammer.Bullets shut down vital fun...

I was thinking(I know dangerous)but a bullet not seated on the charge could also cause this to happen.
