Pressure Cooker/Canner

Todays modern plug in pressure cookers are not made to can. However there are quite a few stove top pressure cookers that can be used for canning also. I have a Mirro pressure cooker that I have used for canning for years. Just be sure when you buy it that it is either a canner or a multipurpose coo...

"I'd be eatin' on the first ones by the time I was doing the last ones! "

Isn't that the best part of canning? :D

If you are talking about the safety rail that goes around a two person treestand about waist high, I don't use them for a direct rifle or crossbow support, but I do use them for an arm support while I am shooting. I remember reading somewhere a few years ago that the "springiness" of some ...

I have canned venison and bear with a pressure cooker/canner for years. I have a Mirro and I think it was only $35.00 or so. I can do 4 quarts at a time. I just place 1/2 small onion in the bottom of the jar, or 1 garlic clove, along with 1 teaspoon canning salt, pack raw stewing meat in it tightly ...

My great Uncle used to throw the skinned deer head in his pond with a small chain and a cinderblock to keep it submerged. Would go back in the Spring and take it out perfectly cleaned. I don't know what he did after that, if anything, but they were hanging everywhere around the farm buildings.

Jo-Jan jig

Right helical makes an arrow spin to the right faster, left helical makes the arrow spin to the left faster. Most folks use either straight or right helical. I use a single Jo-Jan straight and set it for as much right offset as you can. If you want a right hand helical with your current jig just buy...

X2 on the Gorilla glue. A little goes a long way and it expands as it cures. Never lost an insert yet!

The really old ones came with a red felt drawstring bag and were sold under the name Jon-E Warmer. They even had a hole in them on one side so you could light a cigarette off of the wick burner. There were two sizes and they got really hot. Not that I am old enough to remember or anything!

I feel your pain! Sending your Baby off to college is bad enough but after graduation mine decided to do volunteer work in Scotland for 14 months. I'll never forget the sight of her loaded down with luggage boarding that plane! But the time went fast. :(
