I've been told it's the poor man's grizzly so I'm sure you'll get quite the rush hunting them. Poor man's Grizzly - I like that phrase. :D How's the meat compare to grocery pigs. jw Depends on what they've been eating from what I've been told. Not sure which type of acorn it is (think it is Red Oak...

I would call the Wildlife Department and ask someone. I'm not aware of the "neighboring states" rule but I can't imagine that being an issue if you are truly disbled - you just need to carry a note from your doctor stating that fact. Another reason to contact them is that the hog isn't co...

Mine is on a rack in my home office as well. I like to have it out - reminds me of my time in the woods and makes the "anticipation" for the next time that much sweeter. I will say this - I had a Mathews Conquest compound that I left in a bow case for about a year and a half and it rusted ...

I've had zero fogging problems with the varizone scope and the only thing I felt was missing was some illumination for turkey hunting and last minute evening hunts. Sounds like the new scope covers those nicely. I'll wait on the reviews but may be "upgrading" before next deer season.

Just got my Phoenix this year and really wanted a thumbhole stock with lighted scope. Seems like I got into it a year early...such is life. (Not that I'm complaining about it...had two deer in the freezer because of it.) I love the Excal simplicity but wish they were a tad narrower. I know that isn'...

Can't tell from that far way but I can tell you it's in the non-venomous variety - probably a rat snake from what I can see. Not a snake that would try and make a meal out of an adult rabbit - eats more birds and mice than anything else.

Funny video though...

Tye - I was right there with you before this season. Been hunting archery for many years and never seemed to have that luck of getting a deer in bow range. Hunted HARD with no results. Patience and persistence paid off finally for me and I'm sure you will score if you stick with it. Until then, have...

It was definitely an unlikely hunt gone good and a pleasent suprise. She will be great eating. I hunt 95% from the ground with my Steddy Eddy monopod setup. Killed my first xbow buck this season in the same type situation - only a lot closer. I could see his eye lashes and he was within 5 yards when...

Phoenix scores a doe

Just thought I would share my latest hunting success with the Phoenix. My brother and I went hunting this past Saturday as it was the last day for bucks in Oklahoma and I'm out of venison. We got in the woods around 45 minutes before daylight and I made my way to where I'd planned on hunting - a cor...

I have a Tundra quad cab and love it - I've owned Dodge and GMC before this and the Tundra is the hands down winner in quality, ride, and reliability.

The string MUST be coming into contact with the posts that mount to the riser. Is there any difference in bolt speed with & without the quiver mounted onto the riser? How about signs of string wear? Any difference in sound when you fire with & without those mounts? The system looks nice. I ...
