Sling Stix

Just picked up some Sling Stix for my Encore 7mm Rem Mag as I needed a new sling anyway. Initial Impressions: Sling comfort/performance: The sling is comfortable but not the most comfortable I've used. The stix are a little stiff on the shoulder without a coat - with a coat, could not tell they were...

Never, and I mean NEVER, carry your xbow loaded on your back. This terrible accdident tells you why - apparently carrying the xbow loaded on his back.

Welcome! Nice to see you taking on the challenge of getting up close and personal - I wouldn't trade it for the world. I'm actually bumbed the rifle season starts this weekend - so much for a quiet day in the woods!

I managed to shove a broadhead half way through the palm of my hand this last January - ended my recurve hunting days, severing multiple tendons and did not get full recovery. (Only good thing to come of it was an introduction to the xbow) Them BH's are STUPID sharp and it is REALLY easy to get too ...

Digger - I do that when shooting offhand or sitting in a chair, really helps in the accuracy department. I only use it as a monopod when I'm sitting directly on the ground.

I did purchase the Steady Eddy Quick Disconnect which is probably what you are seeing. Got it at Bass Pro when I bought the setup. I wanted to be able to remove it for when I hunted from a treestand and didn't need the monopod due to having a shooting rail. The setup should work fine without it thou...

I like the "earn a buck" type programs - where a hunter has to harvest his doe before getting a buck tag. We definitely could use it where I hunt in eastern Oklahoma where the buck to doe ratio is seriously out of whack.

Steddy Eddy on a Phoenix

I recently installed a Steddy Eddy to my Phoenix and love it for hunting from the ground or in a blind. Allows you to set up "monopod style" and have the front of the bow in shooting position while you wait. It was what enabled me to shoot my first buck with a crossbow after it walked past...

I tried the two blade earlier this season and chipped a blade on a clean miss in green briar - no rocks or hard objects. Mine also were a little coroded out of the package. I switched to slick trick's and haven't looked back - the Rage are now going to be my turkey bh this spring - don't have confid...

Crossbow hunting DVD or TV shows?

Anyone know of any good xbow hunting DVD's or TV shows out there? Just took up the xbow this year and would like to watch some hunts.
