I don't like shooting past 30 yards, I would push it out to 40 if I had to but to be honest I have never had to shoot past 20, they always seem to come in close and if they didn't I'd let them walk, I like it up close and personal anyway.

my first buck

With the archery season just around the corner, I was thinking back to last years hunt and I don't know if I posted this picture or not. This was my first buck I ever harvested. Not the biggest rack in the world but he is a trophy to me. Exomag , carbon bolts, 100 grain 3 blade muzzy broadhead. http...

The trophy is in the eye of the beholder. I think any deer is a trophy to me based on the experience and pure joy I get out of being in the outdoors.

Both,at the beginning of the season we have portable stands hung in certain places based on our scouting, but if for some reason they change their pattern(that never happens lol) We will move in to the new location and hunt from the ground. After the gun season is over I would say that 90% is done f...

They are valid for either bucks or does unless something has changed that I haven't heard of. I have always liked the idea of doe only tags because if you want to control the deer population you must control the does and I know alot of doe tags that end up on bucks. Just my 2 cents.
