Re: Arrow spinner
I too have the pine ridge arrow spinner. When I first saw the pine ridge there was no way I was going to spend $52.00 on that so I made a few of my own. After watching someone use theirs first hand I bought one. It’s one of the best tools I’ve bought for arrow making. I would highly recommend the pi...

Re: Cold Weather Hunting
I have always suffered from cold feet. I have a ton of boots that I’ve bought only to be disappointed, although the muck boots I bought last year did help a bit. Hot packs and heated insoles good for about 10 to 15 mins. I do agree on the Merino wool is good stuff. Last year I bought a “ half in the...

Re: Trail Cams
I buy cams that are on sale and inexpensive, for two reasons. First I just want to know what time I’m getting activity and don’t care if I get fantastic photos. Second they have a tendency to disappear. I use two eye bolts and washers with a bolt threw them. One is a 1/4” standard thread and one is ...

Re: Nock weight
I’ve used Allen screws also.
Now I have been using tiny split shot. I put some glue in the insert then add split shots till I get the weight I want then put some more glue on top. The split shot I have start at about 5 gr’s.
Just another option.

Re: What kind of serving jig?
I have an outer limit serving tool. I don’t think it’s considered a high quality tool but it seems to work good for me and I haven’t bent the rods yet. I like it because it has a lower profile than most and the knurled wheel lets me control the tightening easily. There is a motorized version but I j...

Son in law bought a Caldwell on sale at Cabelas. It works quite well and reasonably cheap.

Congrats on your new Excal
Why not shoot it for a while till you get comfie with it and see how it shoots then make your changes. Just a suggestion
Tons of good string makers here.
