I think it's important to be consistant.
It's the KISS theory expanded.
I have different scopes on the Vixen and the Max and it's a struggle to keep the yardages straight in my head.
Life would be simplier if I had the exact set-up on both.

Re: Leupold on the way for the M380
Excellent choice Norm.
I love the Leupold on my Max. Dialing it in is smooth and easy . . .it never moves off target . . .the rest of the perks are just a bonus.

Right now those strings look a lot better than the Steelers!
I miss the Steel Curtain and the games against the Doomsday Defense of my favorite team . . .the good ole days.

Re: Strings & the Material in General
I also like the thicher strings and the thicker servings. The last thing to touch your arrow is the serving. A properly seated serving to nock is important. If the string is too low because you have a thin string on it, then it's more likely to have a partial dry-fire. Same goes for having an arrow ...

Re: Cabelas Mechanical Broadheads
I'm not very concerned about the O-rings . . .just do not double up on them, they are more likely not to open with two o-rings than they are to open prematurely with just one O-ring. I use dental elastics . . .tested them extensively, no problems . . .I even put them on all my mechanicals, even the ...

Re: Last One..I promise
Alright guys. Ill take ur advice and call Mr. Miller. I know he's a good guy and does good business. Danny gave me the best advice ever on purchasing a scope. Everything he tells you comes from his own field testing and experience . . .not some marketing group. As a bonus, he knows all about your b...

Re: Bowhuning around apple trees
I hunted under apple trees for a couple of years. The larger bucks would visit very late in the evening. It would be best to know where they were coming in from and set up on the trail. Funny thing . . .I would shake the apples out of the tree in the afternoons. Without fail, a couple of fawns would...

I too think the issue could be with the stoppers . . .make the stoppers fit your string.

Re: Marking yards without range finder
Just get a range finder......... 100 ft. tape=cheap range finder. That gets you to 33 yrds. 'bout max range for me huntin'. Its in tool box allready. Cost "0". Poor ol' dumb carpenter has to save a few pennies here and there! A damn tape is a lot cheaper, never under stood spend...

Re: Broadhead planning?
I had planing problems with the original Thunderheads when I started 8 yrs ago. The big heads would fly on a particular arrow but shoot to a differenht point of impact on the next. Found the answer after considerable experimentation: 1(Low profile (short), 4-bladed heads.2) High FOC, like 18-20%. 3...

Re: Help Recommendations needed for a Mechanical Broadhead
Chris . . .sorry about being late to this party. : ) In the area that you are hunting, you need more cutting surface. The more cutting, the more bleeding, and the quicker they drop. I know there are variables, but, we kill via blood loss . . .cut, more bleed more. Since switching to a large cut mech...

Re: Broadhead planning?
Sumner...just curious....if you put the arrow with the bent blade on a spinner it would look fine - meaning the ferrule is not bent at all? Correct . . .I couldn't figure out why the broadhead flew off like that . . .perfect one shot, eight inches then off the next. I looked it over, shot it again ...
