GaryL . . .grandtrout would be the one to answer that. I am making sure mine is set even from center. As far as extra stress on the string, I believe hitting the stop plate on the riser would be rougher on the string than hitting the limbsavers and we are stopping the string before it has a chance t...

bait pile willie . . .were you measuring my brace height in my picture? If so, the 2 1/2 inch bracket used to attach the Limbsaver is a tad too long. I'm planning on adjusting it to the lower brace height as soon as I get time to drill a hole in the bracket . . .I keep saying tomorrow . . .anyway, i...

Have you tried getting your finger stronger? I have one of those gel squares from Nike . . .suppose to be a hand strengthener. It has a grove in it for your fingers . . .I just put my trigger finger in the grove and exercise that specific finger once a week. Noticed a big difference in control in a ...

Highlander . . .I think hunting conditions would greatly impact range, at least it does for me. Also, range greatly impacts my hunting conditions. If I'm going bow hunting, then I just don't like going to a open field. Maybe I just don't like to be tempted, seeing a huge deer a few yards out of my r...

I think it would be a ton of fun and a excellent way to practice. I have not done this with the crossbow yet, but use to regularly small game hunt with my compound bow(before I got a real job). I had a set of cheap arrows with target tips . . .aim small, miss small and have some fun. During the summ...

GaryL . . .my first string wore out in about 100 shots(maybe less), actually broke on me. My second one had one strand to break after 45-50 shots . . .after talking to Peter and someone else at Excalibur, they thought the string might be hitting the riser and wanted me to move the brace height back ...

I have only shot this set-up a few times at 30 yards in windy conditions. However, I didn't notice a difference in speed or accuracy, Maybe just too small at 30 yards to see. Anyway, here are my last three shots at thirty yards. What I mean by didn't see is, I didn't make any adjustments to my scope...

String dampener????
OK . . .been working on this since the thread on deer jumping the string. I got the idea from another forum member. I set it up and have only shot maybe 40 bolts . . .not much of a test for me, but the other member has shot approx. a 1,000 shots with the set-up. I still have not adjusted the brace h...

A properly prepared hunter can easily make much longer shots than 30 and 40 yards. Can a hunter get properly prepared is the question. Here are things that need to be done . . . 1. Aim small, miss small . . .aim for the center of the heart, not behind the front leg. 2. Practice until you can not mis...
