I think it has been decided that deer can see blue. I have a orange vest that is 30 years old and that seems to work okay but the new ones with all the ultra violet brightners really seem to spook um. I've watched deer come out and spot me 25 feet up a tree wearing new blaze orange even though Im no...

Next will come the TV commercials showing someone with a machine gun saying we can't allow this. Even though it is now illlegal most folks probably don't know this and will ok the legislation which just happens to also include your semi. Everything here and there is accomplished through deciet and l...

How long I sit depends on what the deer are doing. Sitting all day can be great if the rut is on. I know lots of deer trails that are used regularly but they mostly seem to have just the usual herd deer. To harvest a wall hanger I have to be on foot. It can take 3 or 4 weeks to find one. Once that's...

That's a good idea about the freezer. Got to make me up a snake pole so I can grab ahold of em. I guess I should leave a note on top of the freezer for the wife although Im not sure about the mother in law. For anyone who hasn't had the pleasure of eating a rattler, they're very good. Sort of tastes...

I've been seeing plenty of Va. deer so far. Passed on a 5 pt. on Saturday. The wife and I both have chiggers to prove I went hunting. We need a good frost.

That big un looks like good eating. I've been thinking about killing the next big one I see and taking it to the taxidermist. I've seen some giants here in Virginia that were as big around as my leg. I guess when they're that big they can eat squirels and rabbits. I wonder how you can kill one witho...

Thank you Sumner and 45 for the information you provided. I forwarded the video and Ann Coultars letter to every one I know and urged them to forward that material to others on their email list. Unfortunately, the ignorant will probably decide this election.

Your right on the money 45gun. I try and explain this to people I know and they just look at me dumbfounded. Im surrounded by idiots. Makes me wonder if there is any hope for us. The thing that gets me is that no one will own up to their mistakes. They have all known what a mess was coming down the ...

I like the sales tax idea also. It has been floated around along with the idea to supplement the poor's income so they could afford it. This would eliminate tax cheats. Sales or consumtion tax work in other states why not on a national level. Put the onus on the Mercedes/Lexus owners and not the res...

I like the flat tax idea. As it is now, 15% of Americans pay 85% of the taxes collected. Every time there is tax reform to tax the wealthy my middle income salary seems to get hit. The flat tax rate would be about 17% and would ease the pain for me as my federal tax rate is 30 some persent but it wo...

Im from Warren county, Va. and I have the same problem. A number of the folks around me don't pay any attention to seasons or bag limits. If they run out of meat they just go shoot another one which is generally after dark with a spot light. When questioned about it they claim they need the meat to ...

Keep formost in your minds that the next President might be able to replace two or three sitting supreme court justices. The next Pres will also nominate many appeal court judges as well. This makes this election critical to all gun owners in this country. I hope our side wins because Im not sure if...

Sarha had a right if not a duty to fire that State Trooper. If you read of any cop acting like this one you would demand it. Posted by 45gun - Something I found at another forum. If this is true which I figure it is it shows why Palin is not worried about any investigation about the trooper. Politic...

I thinik she did a wonderful job. This is a woman who can think on her feet. My wife was complaining that she didn't say how she was going to fix the world's problems. I don't think this was her place to do that. Her speach was to be an introduction of herself to the American people and she did a gr...

I think he swung it at a tree in frustration and broke the stock and then cut the damaged parts off. If the main frame isn't damaged the cost with a replacement stock would end up being $180 plus shipping. Not a bad price but I wouldn't want it.
