FOC and other arrow adjustments

Since I've joined this site I've read numerous discussions about customizing bolts, changing FOCs, refletching etc.... My question is, is all this worth it? I seem to get good performance out of the arrows I buy at the store especially, within thirty yards. What kind of improvments could I expect by...

I live northeast of Haliburton and we have them here on our property. I had two hens walk under my stand in deer season and we saw at least ten birds in the immediate area this spring. Though we don't have a season here yet, I called in a nice gobbler to a camera two seasons ago. I hunt them just so...

Sounds like things are basically going well. Remember, half the fun of these things is learning how they work and what they are capable of doing. Keep at it. Don't get frustrated. Above all enjoy. If you are within two inches targets at all those ranges, the world is a pretty good place. Deer won't ...

Wildlife Management Units 46, 48, 49, 50 53A, 54, 56, 57, and 58 end their archery seasons for deer on November 30. The rationale is to protect deer when they yard up, since our winter's come a little earlier here. If we were allowed to hunt them into December, we'd massacre them in the yarding area...

turkey hunting

Okay, I know the deer season is still going strong in most places, but here in central Ontario it ended on November 30. I am still practicing every day and enjoying shooting my Vixen. I might even take one more foray down south to try to fill a tag. But....now my thoughts are starting to turn to ice...

I have the flat, metal-nocked Beman's. They seem to fly well out of my Vixen. Then again, I've not tried any ranges over 30 yards yet.

Wabi,

I never thought of it that way. I always thought you guys had more selection and better prices. Like most of these guys are saying, I guess its a trade off here and there. Probably all works out in the end.

Mine are generally fifteen feet or better but we've killed deer out of stands that are only twelve feet high. This year though, got busted way too many times out of the low stands. Next season it's 16 feet or better. Probably more like 20.

How high is your treestand?

Here's another question for those who climb trees during the hunt. How high is your tree stand?
