Re: X-Act Mechanical Broadhead

I must be getting old. 280 fps became slow & I didn't even notice. Pie plate don't cut it for me either. That's why I don't shoot the old style 1-9\16" snuffers anymore. Only head I ever gave up on. Look, you found your solution & that's great. But I've seen too many fist-sized groups o...

Re: X-Act Mechanical Broadhead

No thanks, I won't be throwing away that experience. Worked too hard to get it. And once that arrow leaves the string it doesn't matter if shot from a longbow compound or crossbow. If anything there are less variables with the crossbow, especially Excals. Tuning is complete when they assemble it at ...

Re: X-Act Mechanical Broadhead

No personal experience with them, but no reason to think they wouldn't be good. Excal wouldn't market them otherwise. That said... I would heartily dispute the myth that no 100 grain fixed broadhead can be consistently accurate. After 20+ years of vertical bow & crossbow hunting, my experience i...

Very, very few critters I won't eat. Possums are one. I've seen where they go. Walking a pasture on my buddies family farm as a kid... cow laying there, dead a week or more in the summer sun... "hey, it's belly is moving" says friend... out comes a whole family of possums from the wrong en...

Been a few years since I had a compound but would judge them about equal for hunting. Took longer for me to get really good with the vert compound but once I did was as good with it as with the crossbow. Crossbows may be easier to master but in hunting situations the pros & cons seem to equal ou...

Uncle Ted can be a bit crass, but I'm still glad to have him on our side. Don't know much about the baiting, never did it, not even a salt block. Always figured the money spent on corn, minerals, or whatever coulda just bought some meat. It would concern me some that if baiting of all types were com...

Nice buck, looks like a great shot too.

Happy as a pig in mud with my Ibex, but if I ever get another Excalibur (oh, I will :) but different model it'll probably be a Vixen.

After owning one for awhile now, I see why Excalibur doesn't advertise heavily. No need to. The reputation is sterling & the crossbows sell themselves when a potential customer shoots one or sees one in action.

My advice... get a tattoo of the Excalibur logo. I did, & it's brought me some serious critter-baggin' mojo this hunting season. Plus, it looks good
