Re: post sub

Ah HA you don't want to keep all the big bucks to yourself, maybe you've never killed a big buck and afraid someone might beat you to him, this is from someone who don't care if you ever see a buck period I've grown tired of your bs, a crossbow hunter who will be in PA. THIS SEASON. killing your de...

PA has had crossbow legalization in certain areas of the state for several years. Has the herd been decimated or the archery season shortened in these areas? Those are the SPECIAL REGULATIONS areas around Pitt and Philly- no way you can compare those areas to the big woods of the REST of the state!...

That's the point, there ARE NO statistics for PA! Nobody knows what will happen! SOme have speculated, but NOBODY knows what full inclusion STATEWIDE will have in PA. I have always supported x-bows for the physically challenged and a measured and slow inclusion statewide for everyone else. I think 2...

We have had full inclusion of crossbows as legal archery equipment for decades here in Ohio. Our deer herd is growing, and our hunter ranks are shrinking. That is exactly the point, Wabi! How many hunters do you have in OHIO? We have more bowhunters here in PA than most states have TOTAL hunters! B...

Re: Pa Archers Need Your Help!

He has stated that the mail and email he gets is 4 or 5 to 1 AGAINST full inclusion. Even though all the rest of the commissioners and the PGC say it is about 50/50. Well, it was 5 to 1 against back in Jan. and they still voted FOR inclusion. We will see very shortly how this all shakes out!

Bob, A few years ago I was at an archery shoot where guys were figuring out where to hold their stickbows to be able to hit an Elk target at 90+ yards. There were a few guys that were regularly hitting the target. I was using my adjustable single pin sight to hit a buffalo at 83 yards(with my compou...

SOrry to hear that Mike! WOW- 28 ft! The Lord was watching over you that day!

But glad to hear you are back at it!

I have heard stories like that and because of them, I NEVER leave the ground without my full body harness. If I forget it, I stay on the ground. I love my family too much!

The patience and skill that it takes to remain "statue like" in a tree for 3 to 4 hours at a crack is in my opinion a learned skill. The only way one can get good at it is by doing it. Likewise shooting from aloft is also a learned skill particularly over uneven terrain like a steep down ...

I used to hunt entirely out of treestands, but as I've gotten older and fatter, it's just easier to hunt off of the ground. LOL Big! You just reminded me of an incident that happened last year. I was trying to get on/in my summit viper (it was about knee level on the tree) when I got one leg ...

95% ground (hince groundpounder) and the other 5% treestand. I was a hunter safety instructor for several years and always received all of Georgias hunting accident reports. Read WAY too many unfortunate tree stand related accidents. Alot of them made you cringe just to read them. I know there are ...

Ground hunting vs. Treestand (deer)

Just curious how much of each?

I hunt less than 5% from ground and over 95% in a treestand.

I have 1 hang on and 2 climbers. I hunt public land, so I use my SUmmit climber and like to remain mobile!

If you are talking stand sites, I have about 3 or 4 that I use regularly.

Here is a very interesting article I found: Survey: Number of bears on rise Herald staff and wire report Bobby Koger was deer hunting on a Kentucky hillside when a black bear gave him the fright of his life. A 300-pound animal, apparently unhappy that an intruder was on his turf, came charging and d...

DaGriz- we have the same problems here. People move in from NY or NJ and think it's fun to feed the bears! There was a guy a few years back that was trying to lure one into his VW Bug to get a picture. Another that would feed one a peanut butter sandwich out of his mouth(he would hold it with...
