Re: H and R ultra slug hunter
You might also look at the Savage 220f. It's a 20 ga. rifled shotgun, built on a rife platform, with Savage's accutrigger. Very hard to find here in Southern Michigan, because they sell out so fast. One inch groups at 100 yds, four inch at 200, mild recoil, and a pleasure to carry. The H&R is al...

collars
I know this might seem odd, but when I started training my german short-haired pointer pup with an electronic collar, I checked the "stimulation" levels in the palm of my hand. It will give you complete perspective when corrective action is called for.

Ground Blinds
Ray, I use a Lucky's Tent Blind and love it. It was made for vertical bows but with a 7 1/2 foot base there's plenty of room for a crossbow. Can you leave it in the woods during the season? After a week none of the deer seem to pay any attention to it. Also, this blind holds up really well. A friend...

Arrow Weight
I was curious to hear from other members, when considering all the factors of putting a hunting arrow together, if you had to choose on a total weight of 350gr or 450gr, which weight would you choose? Thanks.

100% ground blinds. I have taken several nice bucks with shotgun and muzzleloader in heavy cover, all 30 yards or less. Needless to say I was thrilled when Michigan OK'd xbows. I do most of my blind building and shooting lanes in March, for the following season. Naturally, wind direction is everythi...

I'm not sure how FOC is calculated, so could anybody tell me if I'm in the ballpark for FOC and total arrow weight.

crossbow coyotes
After thinking about what you were going to try, I'd suggest starting with calling Grey Fox if they are available in your area. Many shots would be within crossbow range, and they aggressively respond to calls. It would be a great way to refine your calling skills. Have fun!
