Deer hair is hollow and they float like a cork in water. Not sure how deep it is but he shouldn't be hard to find. Sounds like a dead deer floatin to me. Good luck and get some sleep.

We tryed it last night (with beef, to my chagrin).

It is awesome stuff. The "gravy" that the soup creates would also be good in many other dishes. Thanks for posting.

I too live near Fond du lac and would be HIGHLY skeptical if this is a legitimate wild deer. There are a lot of deer farms around and something like this sure looks pen raised. I have bow hunted 52 years and this one just smells a tad. I'm guessing the wardens have already talked to him. Sorry for b...

I'm always looking for something cheap. I cut up old license plates in dime size pieces and tack them to trees marking my trail in and out. Then use the hat light with green lens. Works great.

Poor guy! More comments on the workshop than the great dacron string that he made. I'll bet thats the last time we see his shop.

do yourself a favor and stick a piece of masking tape on one of the limbs that says "arrow?" I too, am new at this and believe it or not the other day I cocked her up, took careful aim and my first dry fire was history. You feel like a dummy and hopeful you won't hurt the limbs if you do i...

String Jump

What has everyones experience been with crossbows when shooting at 30 plus yards and having the animal drop from the noise? I have no doubt that under that distance it won't be a problem but with the great accuracy of the Excalibur, longer distances in the 40 yard range will be tempting but I worry ...

Everyone sure seems sold on the NGSS.
Some obvious questions----
Why doesn't Excalibur put these on the bow if they are helpful?
How much weight does it add?
Whats the cost?
Just what do the intials stand for?

Thanks everyone for all the help!

NGSS system??? What is it?

I will replace the string. What is the correct twists for a new excel string? Two full twists, counterclockwise??
Also what brace height should I have for an equinox?
Thanks for your help.

I just fired it about a half dozen times with no apparent harm. The one thing I did notice is that I just put on a new excel string and gave it two twists resulting in a 1 3/16 brace height. I measured after the dry fire and it was a 1 inch brace height. Now after firing its 15/16. Just string stret...

Wisconsin has had a mandatory registration for over 50 years. None of this guesswork to make important decisions like this. If you have too many deer why should they care how they are harvested?
