Re: Excalibur 175# bows speed
Thanks for the info. If the 2216 with 100 grain tip weighs even closer to my 432 gold tip laz 11 I could definitly estimate my speed with no chrony needed. Well I am on the subject I estimate my equinox with 532 grain arrows at 305. In the chart the 2219 with 150 tip shoots at 315fps and would weigh...

Excalibur 175# bows speed
I just received my new Ibex from Dan Miller on monday great customer service. I purchased this bow for my wife and kids for the future; however, right now it is a backup to my equinox. Like my equinox I ordered a boo string to put on it. After looking at the instruction manual, I noticed the arrow s...

Re: Feeding deer corn in winter months
In these could winter months is there any types of feed rather than corn that in small amounts you can supplement there diet. Since i live next to my hunting woods it would be nice to see some of deer now that the season is over.

Feeding deer corn in winter months
I here it is not healthy to feed deer corn in the winter is this true? I heard deer have been found dead with full bellys of corn. I read this in a popular mag and also heard this on many hunting shows. There are so many people thinking they are helping the deer by feeding them corn in the winter mo...

Re: BH choice for a noob
I considered a fixed head 2 years ago. One of my friends shoot slicks the other strikers both small fixed heads out of excaliburs. Both of these heads flew CLOSE to field points buy not exact like my rage do. I just don't like the idea of having to change my scope even slightly for broadheads. I tes...

Re: Vixen II or Ibex?
vixen master thanks for your help and forgive me for asking but what do you mean by LOP is 13.5" area. my wife is 5'4 and my children are young; therefore, would the ibex work? I would like to keep arrows in the 400 to 450 range with (FOC) weight for these lighter bows and i am afraid the vixen...

Re: BH choice for a noob
You definitely want to make sure that the to blades are in the o rings. I shoot the rage 2 blade out of my equinox and can not say they ever opened; however, I have always been concerned that it could happen.

Re: BH choice for a noob
nap Spitfire or rage 2 blade would work great 100 or 125. Fly great and over 32 deer between the 2.

Re: Vixen II or Ibex?
I am also looking for either a vixen 2 or ibex for my wife and daughters to hunt in the future and also as a backup x-bow. I like the stock size and lower overall weight of the ibex and vixen2. Do you think the ibex would be to big for a smaller frame female? I would prefer the ibex for a backup for...

Re: What's The Adavantge.100gr. 125gr. 150gr. and even heavi
I would like to try that new nap F.O.C 170 grain broadhead. With that weight, my arrows would be over 600 grains increasing my foc weight from 190 grains to 260 grains. With my equinox, boo string and that kind of weight up front I could push that huge 3 inch cut through the deer no problem. With th...

Re: What's The Adavantge.100gr. 125gr. 150gr. and even heavi
I hunt with a equinox x-bow, traditional recurves bows and love to shoot airguns. I shoot over 530 grains from both my x-bow and recurve. After lots of research and practice I believe they all shoot better with heavier arrows/pellets. I would like to list 3 reasons why. 1.better flight/accuracy 2. b...

Re: Do you use a "cure" when you make jerky??
I NEVER use the cure I always throw it away. There is alot of research stating the health dangers possible cancer linked to cured foods high in sodium nitrite. I use a oven with jerky gun and jerky racks from the company LEM works great. I use ground meat with spices and little water I also use a li...

Burning Smell after shot?
I missed a doe at 32 yards on friday. I think I used my forty yard line by accident and shot over the deer. After the shot I smelled a strong burning smell from the bow. What do you think this was from? I shot a big doe about a half hour later and I did not notice the smell again. Just curious on th...
