gundog, a post reticle might also be something to look into but i think i would try the red dot first.

easiest way to tender squirrel is adolph's meat tenderizer. sprinkle the squirrel pieces with the adolph's tenderizer, put in a ziplock bag in refrigerator for a day or day and a half then fry, will just about fall off the bone.

i shoot the vortex as well and last week shot a hog with a 1 3/4 inch cut grim reaper and was very impressed. 125 grains, firebolt with alum. insert. went less than 40 yards.

As long as it clears your jaws there is not much troubles . I have and do use them on occasion . On hogs I can`t say if they are tough enough . thanks hank, i saw the thread lower down about placing them close to the pads and had thought of that as well, that is what i am going to do, also i have the cat whiskers served on my string and they hep dampen it down as well, also have the s-5 which altogether i figure will be as quiet as it is go...

going to them this year, am a member on www.bayoubucks .com and a lot of folks here use them out of compounds, they are bad as can be. most recommend razorcut not razortip. you can visit the site and see some first hand pics of the damage they do.
