I've watched some of the hunting shows that are filmed out west. They do take some long shots!

Re: Long Shot

Basicly you were off the site at 50 yards as you said you shot high. Whats next a pot shot at 60 or 70 yards? Where does one stop now that you made that shot? Actually, I wasn't off the sight at 52. Holding high on her shoulder, almost at her back. With my target I regularly shoot 55yds by holding ...

Re: Long Shot

Rayman, Trixie is my Exomax, named after my Great Grand-Mother's dog. :D
G-Boy, thanks for not judging, this is not a shot I ever thought I would take  . If you have read my posts, you will know most of my shots are under 30yds. Something made me take this shot, I don't know what.

Re: Just for curiosity, what is the maximum range of an Exom

I just shot through two shoulders at 52 yards, and the arrow buried 14" in the ground with my Exomax!

Long Shot

I know I will catch "heck" for this, and possibly rightly so. But, I did it, and will confess it here. I got off a little early today, came home, grabbed Trixie and sat behind where I keep my kayaks and trailer. Still in my work clothes, but, with a front coming in, I knew the local deer w...

Re: A pretty sturdy bear... don't you guys think?

My cousin kills a lot of bears, in three states. From his pictures I have seen, that bear probably goes 400-425 lbs. A trophy black bear for sure. Did any-one else notice, the bear is so big, the feet look small?

Re: True confession

We are truly blessed, to sit and see what most can only imagine. I have had chipmunks on my boot, squirrels on my stand. Hawks in trees right beside me. Deer all around, doing what they do. I'm thankful my grandfather and father taught me to sit quietly in the woods and observe, not just kill. It al...

Re: Emergency planning!

I'll try to copy it here: It finally happened to me. I got lost in the woods Friday evening. Was hunting a new spot in the Nat.Forest, and knew my wife wanted to go out to dinner Fri. night, so I came out of my stand at 6:00. I could walk to my truck in about 45 minutes or less. When I realized I ha...

Re: Emergency planning!

I usually hunt by my self. My wife knows about where I will be, so do a couple of friends. Recently purchased a new GPS, and a SPOT locater, messenging beacon. Carry fire making stuff, extra snack bars, and a water filter when hunting in the National Forest. See my thread titled Lost! on Crossbow Na...
