Re: For those of you waiting for Excal's new STS style syste

Looking at your sig line Excal dude, I see you have a Groundpounder mount. So, I have to ask, this new STS style system can be used with the Groundpounder mount yes? Have you tried it on an Excal to make sure all of the hardware clears? Thanks.

Ohio Hunter Arrows Monster Buck with Crossbow

Not an Excal, but good for the Crossbow Community. Looks like a Parker Tornado. What a monster. Green Score 217 7/8.

Re: How long can a fellow do this?

That is a waaay cool bike. I only have a Trek Mtn bike, but I heartily agree, ride all summer. 53 here this past June. Somedays I feel it, but I'm huntin' till I drop. Just started pullin' the strings on a Recurve and a longbow. I figure its never too late.

Re: Bolt cutters, very disappointed

Shooting a '09 Vortex here, I did have a time of it last year, as this Excal was new to me in '09. First, if I can get a Xbow bolt with feather fletchings I will. Don't know if thats possible without doing my own. The issue I think needs to be addressed is this. You simply cannot use a target that b...

Re: Target Help!!

I'll use anything that doesn't bury the fletchings at 30yds. This one works, but with this Vortex, at 20yds the fletchings get wrinkled. Oh and you will need two hands and your Wheaties to pull out the bolt.

Re: MD Archery Season Opener Sept 15 2010

York county just south of Felton, near Crossroads. My brother has some private land near there. Yes I don't know what it is about the northern PA tier. Some say its bad PA Game mgt., others say there is a lot of poaching. I just don't know. Last year, Out of 6 guys hunting 3 days, only one scored a ...

Re: Ameristep Doghouse blind question

I hunted out of my doghouse exclusively last year. With a swivel-bucket, Excal, backpack and I had a bipod in there, its too cramped for two adults. I would also echo the comments about the limb slap, geez you dont want to get hit with an Excal limb. If you are facing out one side, and a shooter sho...

Re: MD Archery Season Opener Sept 15 2010

I wish we had that same nip in the air. I'm in exile here in MD, wishing I was in PA where I could still carry legal. Job sit being what it is, I live here and travel to PA to hunt and fish. Lived in York and Harrisburg for years. Hunt Tioga, Bradford and York Counties now. Flyfish Penns Creek near ...

MD Archery Season Opener Sept 15 2010

Anyone Xbow hunting in MD? The season is actually broken up into 6 pieces. Good news is Crossbows are now legal for all archery seasons in MD. PA - Archery season opens Oct. 2nd. Crosbows are legal statewide here as well. Anyone Excal hunting in PA? In MD where I am, relief from the heat is coming. ...

Re: Unexpected cam guest....

Urban Eagles. One County north of the county that borders D.C. in MD. I shot these back in March of this year before everything leafed out. The sycamore tree is in someone's backyard, private property. But there is a business next door and they let you come and take photos. Once the tree leafs out o...

Re: Unexpected cam guest....

Very cool. Here in MD, there is a pair of Bald eagles that have been nesting in a large sycamore tree for the last few years. The tree is next to a reservoir. A high speed transit train runs right by the nest. Urban eagles I call them.

Re: FIRST X BOW

Ahhh NJ, I used to go to Toms River every summer to visit my cousins. Seaside Beach and all. But that was another time. I bought a new Vortex last year and love it. I would recommend you buy a target specifically designed for crossbows. Reason being is that I bought one not specifically designed for...

Re: Excalibur marketing dude

The Varizone on this Vortex I bought in 2009 works fine. Sounds like this gentleman got a bum unit. It happens. Sadly, Congress voted to give tax breaks to companies if they shipped all their factories overseas. So almost everything is made in Communist China now. Fortunately Excalibur crossbows are...

I have a Vortex. The thumbholers do require more hand movement to release the safety. This is a really good 3D Xbow.
