Not everyone ownes their own land. Sometimes, you get to your area and find the landowner has granted permission to others. What do you do then? Go home? Give up hunting? Play golf?

pretty near all we eat here is game of one kind or nother. You gotta slowly get em used to it. If you grind most of it you can't taste it in clilli, spagetti, etc. Another way is to put in some beef stock, taste more beefy. Best way is make sausage or jerky or pepperettes, etc. Don't tell em whats i...

Ya, make sure you get the cantilever if you wanna use a scope. I got the combo, and it came with iron sights instead of cantilever. Shoots great, but a scope would be nice. My eyesights perfect, but the deer seem to be gettin fuzzier...

" I have no intention of consuming and I sure wouldn't eat a song dog"

No, but you could keep (or sell) the pelt. Do em a favour and thin them out. Too many yotes in an area spread bad mange and slow death for them.

The MNR wouldn't do something like that that would leave them open to huge lawsuits (releasing predators without warning people in the area) but I could see some loonie animal rights groups doing it....thinking they could eliminate hunting by humans by letting "mother nature" take care of ...

Yotes kill full grown, healthy deer. I've seen it.

Bucklandman, if ya get him, let me know. I'm in your neck of the woods and ship fur. Get a few yotes each year, they'll pay for your deer gear!

Thats a nice female fisher. The pelt would fetch ya up to $50. I have a quota of 7, which I fill every year. This year there are so many around they just eliminated quotas for eastern ontario. I don't know about fawns, but they do have a fondness for cats, and will even go after small lapdogs. They ...

Taxman, I'm glad you agree xbows are more humane than bows. Mebbe yer not being challenged because you are hunting in the city....where my mother lives she has to chase them out of her flower garden almost every day. She hit one with her car a few months ago. You could hunt them with a hatchet and s...

Scent stix question

Anyone ever tried these? The ones you light and they burn releasing scent in the smoke...
Are they safe in dry woods? What are the best ones this time of the year? (they come in dominant buck, estrous doe, and apple...I'm thinking apple)
Thanks.
