One of the reasons I married my husband was to have a "spider slayer". Hubby has taught our toddler to say "mommy thinks spiders are icky yucky" - it's their private little joke. Cute, but I honestly don't like spiders in the house. If they're outside I'm on their turf, bu...

I'm like Tye - lucky (!) and always carry a compass. I remember a particular moose hunt out west - it was a beautiful, still morning with 1" thick hoar frost on everything. The thigh-deep snow and all the tree branches were the same colour as the sky. I was pushing though the middle of a bush I...

Best of luck tonight Griz! Hopefully it won't be too brutal. Don't forget to make it up to your wife! My husband says that "nothin' says lovin' like venison in the oven"... so here we celebrated with a venison roast for dinner. Try not to think about it and have a good evening anyways! LOL...

......Maybe we all need to work on image. I think there's a lot of truth to that, Grizz! I know too many hunters that I'd never hunt with. Some seem to think that hunting is as much about acting the part of a boor as it is about getting out with a gun. For these it's like putting on camo reduces th...

The cost of tags isn't outragous.... I mean, we put fuel in our vehicles, buy camo everything, own multiple bows and guns... what's the big deal? :? What deeply disturbs me about this list lately is that it claims to be a place for people to learn about bowhunting and ethics and yet some people see...

Being a woman I get flak from other women, my parents and even other hunters that don't think that women should be intruding on "their" sport (even though I usually hunt alone). With the anti's I'm non-confrontational, but I point out how animals die in nature (as was mentioned already in ...

This is a bit of a stretch, but if any of you have worked with horses before you know that they can feel a fly landing on them and yet they can "tune-out" other very painful stimuli. I've observed them ignore mishandling, harsh bits, and become unresponsive after being raked to bleeding by...

I would love to be able to shoot everyday, but where I live I dont' have enough room to put up a target and the city bylaws prohibit the discharge of crossbows with in the city and its parks. Did I mention I hate living in the city...yuck!! You need a bungalow with a nice big open basement. T...

I love the Georgian Bay camp - that area is GORGEOUS! When I first moved to Ontario canoing the French saved me from going insane in claustrophobic southern Ont. I've spent time on the French, Key, Magnetawan, Petewawa, Spanish.... great paddling and some wonderful whitewater in the spring. ENJOY YO...

(I sense that there's a bit of an "old boys club" thing going on here. Being a newbie & being a female... well, I guess that means I don't have a clue?) I'm the most easy-going person in the world, I don't get angry and I'm capable of putting up with a lot, but I can't abide misinforma...

Are you talking about our "girlfriends" or our wives. In either case the answer is no, since with the former, it's a bit hard to inflate them once we punch holes in them with our arrows, and with the latter, after inflating her several times, I decided three extra mouths to feed wa...
