I have read that the STS may damage the bow. Is this true? And does anyone know if it will void the warranty if you use one?

My ladder stands are set up about the same distance. I was hoping to get a little more range with the crossbow because I plan on trying out stalking this season.

Sorry for all the lame questions, I have hunted with a compound and a recurve for the last 12 years and really know nothing about crossbows. I just know when I went to Bass Pro to look at them and the Excalibur bows looked like the best quality.

What is the maximum distance anyone has taken a deer with a crossbow?

I guess I didnt think about it like that. One more question, when you are done hunting and your bow is still cocked, how do you uncock it?
