the problem is NOT over-penetration, it is the foam melting onto the carbon shaft. Sounds like lubing the shaft should work - although WD-40 did NOT work.............

OK I took out my new-to-me Exocet 200 with the Firebolt carbon bolts and field points, to sight it in. I was using my foam target cube that I have been shooting into forever, with both field points and broadheads (literally hundreds of shots)............ ..........and the bolts basically MELTED the ...

Excellent, that is exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping to get. With the Thunderheads I get a pass-through 99% of the time, and a very good blood trail better than 50% of the time. They really seem to open the deers up like a tap. So I have been loath to switch. But maybe this old dog can learn...

I have been bow-hunting for about thirty years, all of it with various crossbows. A long time ago I found a broadhead that REALLY works for me, and have used it pretty much exclusively ever since.
