Re: One Broadhead for all bows
I use Magnus Stinger 100gr. Cut on contact with a removable bleeder blade which I use on all my bows. I get pass thru's on white tails with my #45 recurve and of course with the Exocet 200. Lifetime warrenty and are the easiest to resharpen so they make good practice heads.

Re: Deer Hearing
Better to spend money on other archery gizmos rather than to try and silence these crossbows.
I've found a deer can hear you but not know what you are. They can see you and not know what you are. If they smell you they absolutely know what you are and leave in a hurry.
Amazing animals!

Re: String silencers
Im thinking of an sts system @ a heavier arrow, Losing a few ft per second dosn't bother me.Shot placement is more important. :) I made an sts for my Exocet and it helps a little . It's there to help if I ever dry fire the bow. Silencing is overrated when it comes to hunting but I like them as quie...

I've settled on handloaded 8mm Mauser. 30/06 velocity with a big .323 Hornady SP Interlock profile. I have a WWII German Mauser (original stock) with an excellent bore that weighs 11 lbs loaded with scope that shoots MOA for at least 5 rounds, then it heats up and moves a little. Recoil is not bad b...

I took this one chasing a doe with two fawns a few years ago. The fawns kept going and momma stopped to stare down the coyote. He never knew I was 20 yards away. We have a lot of coyotes but the deer are very capable of defending themselves and can get really aggressive when pressed. This guy was ha...

My BYC 452X is faster by 4fps than 8125 on my vertical recurve and quieter by a lot. It's not a stretchy string at all due to the little bit of Vectran in it but has not damaged my Korean ILF carbon-glass limbs yet after more than 3 years and 1000's of shots. All bows are different though and my Exo...

String recipes, endless, flemish?
I am brand new to crossbows and I have an Excaliber Exocet on the way and want to get a few strings made after the stock string settles in and I get a measurement. I shoot endless 452X on most of my vertical recurves. I've noticed most string makers here and other forums tend to make flemish strings...
