I have been hunting with a crossbow since 1995. Have had 2 Exocets and now a Phoenix. I have harvested 40 deer with the crossbow and 17 with the compound since that year. Glad I keep a journal of my deer harvests it is neat to look back to 76 when I took my first and see where and how.

Sumner, I had the same problems with spitfires. In 1998 I started using Rocky Mountain Gator broadheads, I have taken 43 deer with that broadhead and they are awesome. Huge 2in. hole, no O-rings, and foolproof design. The only place you can buy them is through Bass Pro Shops as they have an exclusiv...

Bought an Exocet in 1994, harvested 12 deer with it and sold it to a young hunter who I was mentoring into bowhunting in the year 2000. I then bought a Horton Hunter and got 2 deer that year and sold it at the end of the season, after owning an excalibur nothing else compares. 2001 bought another ex...

If you truly want a fog free scope just buy a Bushnell with the rainguard coating. It only costs $50.00 more for a bushnell elite 3200 in 3x9x40 than a varizone. It is the only scope I ever owned that you can hunt in cold humid conditions with that doesn't fog when you breathe or get heat near it. I...

I hear ya Makomachine. I just bought a new Phoenix 3 weeks ago and really wanted a thumbhole stock also. I have been shooting the old stock for the last 14 years, so what is a few more, besides I don't want to move up to more draw weight just for the stock. Still the best X-bow out there!

I use either arm&hammer or all in the free and clear type, all year on all my clothes and have no problems. There must not be much in the way of brightener in either as I have taken several deer within 15 yds. from the ground. I used to spend the extra money for the UV free and special soaps, bu...

I had an older exocet and the splinters didn't appear until I had been shooting the bow for 6 years and the limbs were replaced without question. I have not had that problem with any of my mag tipped bows yet. The service is exceptional!

Just a hint on what to use to clean carbon shafts depending on which glue you use. Fletch Tite is solvent based and acetone or alcohol is a good cleaner and won't react. Goat Tuff, (which I use) is one of the super glue type adhesives. It is water based, so only water is needed to clean the shafts, ...

Joe, I have been fletching my own arrows for 30 years now. I started using Blazers almost 2 years ago when they first came out and have found nothing better. They are short but the profile is actually the same heigth as a 5" vane. They work so well I even use them for large 2 blade fixed broadh...
