Re: Excalibur T-Shirts???

I picked up a sticker at the Novi, Michigan outdoor show where Excal was stationed. Just washed the grime off my truck today (45 degrees out this afternoon) so it will stick to my window. I'd be in for a shirt or two. Maybe a hat. I help Cabela's, Nike, Ohio State, Browning, Ducks Unlimited, Bass Pr...

Re: why hate coyotes

On my 30 acre parcel surrounded by acres upon acres of farmland and woodlots there are plenty of coyotes. I mow walking paths throughout the summer and they leave scat there, almost teasing me that they know that I know that they are there. My son walked up on one once and I saw one attempting to st...

My name is David, and I AM CANADIAN!
If it's your game how come the NHL is a U.S.A. organization and all Canadian hockey players strive to come here to play in it?

Re: Excalibur Booth @ Outdoorama Michigan

I'm thinking about going. I'll go on Saturday if I do. Wouldn't mind taking in Ed Spinozzola's (sp.?) food plot exhibit and the deer butchering show. I never do my own. Always pay a processor.

Re: Not turkey hunting this year...

Ninepointer, I know what you're talking about. We apply for spring turkey license here in Michigan in February, when I'm sitting around the house doing nothing. So I get excited but once the snow melts, and the kids' soccer season starts, and the weather's nice for my motorcycle, or cleaning up the ...

Re: Restricted Bow Sales USA

I'm a NC Concealed Carry Permit holder.

I wonder if that gives me the right to carry my crossbow in my pants? :?: :P
Well, when some doe in the woods says, "Is that a crossbow in your pants or are you just happy to see me?", the answer will be "YES".

Re: Restricted Bow Sales USA
Note the red-highlighted text near the bottom. Here in NC, in order to purchase a crossbow you have to get a permit-to-purchase from the county sheriff ... no problem in most locales, but a pain nonetheless. I'm sure the rules will be relaxed with the legalization of ...

Re: Mount completed.

Very nice. I've never downed one big enough to justify mounting but I've got the space on the wall waiting, right next to my turkey and pheasant.
Those are two beauties 8)

Re: Recipe?

Posted this one a while back - it was good! venison-mushroom-bleu cheese burgers I've tried that one before. It sucked. But I found out I don't like bleu cheese in the process. Plus, I used twice as much cheese because I thought, "Hey, I'll make it really cheesy by adding more." Anyway, i...

Re: Where should I hit a turkey?

Hey, the pictures are great. Ecoaster, that's a great visual. Thanks. I've nailed a few with my Browning BPS with #5's. My biggest is hanging on my wall. 11.5 inch beard, with 1.25 and 1.5 inch spurs, taken about 35 yds. I got my Phoenix for Christmas and can't wait until deer season to use it so I ...

Where should I hit a turkey?

There's a lot of info here about shooting turkeys and which broadhead to use. My question is where to hit him? Obviously using a guillotine bh one would take out (off) the head. But what if I'm using a "regular" bh? Head shot or chest? :?: :?: :?:

Re: license to hunt for sheds

Some people are idoits! If you need a license to pick up something natural in the woods then you should need one for mushrooms, and wild strawberries and stones and sticks But maybe there is a logical explanation for it. :?: Birds of Prey are state/federally protected species. It is against the law...

Re: favorite gadgets

I like that arrow puller. I've actually never seen one but will be looking next time I'm in the archery section. One of my favorite gadgets is my Brunton range finder. It's a good way to pass the time while I'm sitting in my blind. I now know the distance of every tree, bush, and blade of grass with...

Re: Silencers?

I'll assume noise is not an issue because deer "jumping" is minimized because of the speed of the bolt, correct? I've shot a few deer with muzzleloaders and shotguns (no rifles where I live) and only 1 with a bow (vertical). At @ 20 yards I hit it in the spine and paralyzed it. I've always...
