Re: Installing Brass Inserts - Prep and glue used?
No prep needed. I use locktite superglue gel and just apply the glue to the inside of the shaft all the way around and slide the insert in. Just be careful not to apply too much glue or it'll come back through the hole in the insert and screw up the threads for the tip / broadhead. I have a permanen...

Re: Firenock - IPhone Sights
Interesting on the Tech Specs for the IPhone. I hadn't even thought to check out the temp specs on the unit. Heck, I carry mine in the field during the late Nov early Jan deer season when it sometimes well below freezing and never had a problem with my phone. Maybe I'm just lucky so far?

Firenock - IPhone Sights
Has anyone taken a look at Firenocks new Bow Sight product? http://www.firenock.com/main.php?page=iBowSight I stopped by the Firenock booth on Saturday at the Eastern Sports and Outdoors show and picked up 3 of their Nocks and saw this product in action. I asked them about a crossbow setup and he sa...

Re: eastern sports and outdoor show 2012
Agreed! I would have bought a hoodie if they had them available.

Re: GPS
Pyd... you say "In areas where there is reception you can even see where your buddies are, little pictures of their faces wandering through the woods on your screen, if you so desire. A similar feature to what is on my Garmin dedicated unit, but far more detailed." Which Garmin unit do you...

Re: TAC PAC - FUNCTION OF SLIDING SIDES OF GRIP AND SPRING
My apologies Peter on the comment I made earlier. Ray, thanks for the link! I wasn't aware this was a "grip" but rather thought it was more for a stability system for a bench or what not. The link you provided on the demo showed a little more flexibility in the product for it's uses. Howev...

Re: GPS
One tip if you use this app... when you get to your spot, close the app or turn off the GPS function of the Iphone to save battery for either walking out or just using your phone while you're hunting. GPS will of course suck the life out of a battery in no time.

Re: GPS
Actually I have the unlimited version... I might have paid $20 for it awhile ago... helps to know what you have right? :) As far as ease of use, I find it extremely easy. What I typically have done with it in the past for hunting purposes is mark the spot where my truck is via a waypoint. Turn it of...

Re: GPS
I believe it's a pay app. I think I paid like $1.99 or maybe even $.99 cents to be honest. It was one of the first apps I added. Mine is the on-demand app that you can find here: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/accuterra-on-demand-maps-gps/id324036903?mt=8 They also have one that has the maps include...

Re: TAC PAC - FUNCTION OF SLIDING SIDES OF GRIP AND SPRING
Peter, just curious, with the rail system that this uses, is it possible to attach a tactical light to your crossbow?

Re: GPS
The GPS feature of my IPhone is independant of the Cell phone portion... it uses the same satellites that any GPS unit uses so even if you have no cell reception your GPS will still work. I need to back up a second... if your on demand maps aren't loaded before going into the field where you have no...

Re: GPS
I have a Garmin Oregon 550T and honestly it sits in a drawer since I picked up my IPhone 4 and got the Accutera app. I moved away from Garmin just because my IPhone has everything in one (GPS, Phone, Camera), and the battery lasts longer to be honest. I can even pinpoint waypoints up a mountain to k...

Re: TAC PAC - FUNCTION OF SLIDING SIDES OF GRIP AND SPRING
This Tac Pac isn't for me as my real world situation doesn't really allow me to rest on a bench or something similiar in the field for hunting. However, with that being said, I usually don't say bad things about Excalibur because I love their Crossbow product, however the price point for this packag...

Re: Butler Creek Scope Covers
I bought mine directly from Danny Miller, and he said that some of the Butler Creek flip ups will come undone on their own when using caps that fit the correct OD. He recommended one size bigger, and use electrical tape to wrap around the scope to build it up and then fit the scope cap on snug. Work...
