Re: popping sound
I'm rope cocking, Bolts on riser seem tight. I may loosen them and retighten, should I tighten one up first like some rifle stocks(which one first) or just tighten them up together?

Re: Rail Scribe Marks
I have a Phoenix which I think would be close to the same that has the scribe marks. The closest one is 5/8" which the string would be buried in the bumpers. The farthest one is 1 3/8" and is about a 1/4" off of the bumpers.

Re: Excalibur purchase!! Next steps? :)
From your picture, I think you need a string changer, string wax, maybe some rail lube and 6 Bee arrows. The string changer is to adjust your brace height or well as changing your string (search brace height here). String wax is to keep string in good shape and lube rail. I put rail lube on the rail...

I use the white band--- plus a 1/4" x-heavy 6oz. dental band from e-bay for insurance.

Re: Swacker problem
Don't know anything about the practice head, I just use electric tape on broadhead. I use one band and a dental rubber band for hunting. I agree I think they are opening in flight.

Re: Stirring the pot...Broadhead opinion
I think 90% of broadheads will do their job. I've used 125 grain swhackers on about a dozen whitetails, all but one fell within sight and I heard the other one crash. I believe in shooting every arrow, broadhead combo before I put it in my quiver. I tape the swhacker with electric tape to test them,...

new brown vixen and a vortex. Local store is getting out of crossbows and they have a brown vixen for $320 and a Vortex for $450. They have a scoped Vixen II that I'm not sure the price of. I don't really need a new bow, but good deal???

Re: Broadhead
with the alum. inserts the heavier broadhead maybe a good idea. Most use a brass insert(110 grain) when they use 100-125 broadheads.
