Re: Excalibur ring height?
I use high rings with my Bolt XR and it seems to line up better for quick shouldering, it centers sooner and of course this little scope is crystal clear. High might be better for those hunters like me with big heads. I do use a cheek piece too. Cheers

Re: deer smoke screen
If you have any cedar in your area, break off a limb and bruise it and crush it and lay it in your stand with you. Works for me. Cheers

Re: Leupold scope question
I am shooting a VX-R firedot with regular single crosshairs. Anything within 23 yards is almost dead on (within and inch or so high or low) I just put the little firedot in the kill zone and pull the trigger. Great unit.Cheers

Re: Bowhunting and speed
Hester, I'm with you. I have two 355 Matrix, one is cut down like yours and I love them both. I too am lucky in being able to afford both, I also have a thumbhole custom Vixen. As for hunting, I had one of the best hunting trips of my life this past weekend and I didn't even harvest a deer. Had an 8...

Go to Google Images and type in 'Arrow in Deer head'
Lots of gruesome photos there. Look for the one with the arrow in the man's if you have a tight rectal sphincter.

Re: One Reason aka Why not to take a Poor Shot
My dad shot a fallow doe once that chose the moment of release to look back. His arrow hit similar to the above. Poo poo happens.

Re: Should have set at the shooting bench
I was loading up the other morning in the dark to go to the deer lease and a deer snorted me in the woods beside the house. Ran in and told my wife. She didn't believe me until she came out and it snorted her too. Go figure.

I told my wife last night that my neck was starting to swell. Said she didn't mind as long as I didn't start peeing on the carpet.

Re: Good Inexpensive Game Camera?
Been using a Spypoint 10 megapixel. So far it has been much more dependable than Moultrie or Wildgame units. I went through a bunch of those. Only drawback is spypoints are a little pricey. I guess you have to pay for dependability. Cheers

Peter roll the big dial on the left with the green and red arrows toward or away from you and look through the scope while doing it. You will get the hang of it.

Vanes for 355 past 40 yd
I have always used 2 in Blazers for BHs on my Matrix out to 25 yds with no problems using my Slick Trick 100gr tips. Yesterday I had the occasion to shoot out past 40 yds and was shocked to see my group widen drastically ( from 2" groups to 4 with an occasional 6 or 8in scatter shooting from be...
