Re: Treewalker stands -- Where's Jerry?

Hello BravoKilo - I would be patient in regards to Jerry. I am pretty sure he works at another job full time and also this is his busy season for the tree stands. I had similar issues with him during the summer, but he always got back to me. I think he responds to emails quicker than voice mails. Ha...

Questions on Serving?

Hello everyone - I am about due to have my string reserved on my Vortex. Probably should have done this before the hunting season. I am going to take it to my local archery shop since I don't have the time (3 young kids) to do it myself. This will be the first time I have had this string reserved. W...

Re: ThermaCell Question

Do you leave it hang vertically? Or do you rig it up so it lays horizontal and flat?

ThermaCell Question

This is the first time in a very long time I will be able to hunt in early September. Due to a lack of winter in the North East USA - mosquitos are brutal this year. My question is where do you place your thermacell unit when you are in a treestand? Do you hang it vertically or is there a way to kee...

FireBolt insert?

I was shooting my vortex and noticed one of my inserts came off the bolt and is now deeply (to deep) inbedded into the target. Does anyone know what the replacement insert is?

Thanks!

Hunting Bolt Question

Hello Everyone - I just shot my first deer with Vortex using Excalibur bolts and bolt cutter broadhead. It was pretty much a spine shot with the bolt passing through the doe. My question is: Do you reuse your bolt after you get a deer? The bolt cutter blades look pretty beat up and bent. Can either ...

Re: Tree Stands

I use both ladders and climbers. If I am hunting in area for several days, I set up the ladder. It is from Dick's sporting goods and has a shooting rail. For the climbers, I am a API fan, even though they are heavier, I prefer the chain around the tree. Either way - Always, Always use a safety harne...

Re: Take a woman to the range! :)

My wife, while very supportive, has no interest in hunting. I do have twin daughters age 3, and if I was a bettin man, will both be hunters..

Re: How Fast Can You Setup a Climber?

I use API climbing treestands - they are kind of clunky and heavy, but with the chain wrapped around the tree - I feel solid and secure. If it can be done, I like to pre-stage my climbers the night before, that is get it wrapped around a tree. That way, alls I have to do is tie my gear to the guide ...

Re: o/t looking for info on muzzleloaders

I have a Thompson Center Encore muzzle-loader. At 100 yards - it is the most accurate rifle I own at that yardage. From a bench - three shots will touch. I am extremely happy with it. For a more traditional approach I own a Lyman Great Plains Rifle .50 cal Flintlock - I have owned that one for aroun...

I could have swore this story was about the USA. The state of NJ and the state of Texas.
