Re: Range vs. Soybean Field
I'd bet that in your excitement you used the wrong aiming point. I"ve shot deer out to 53 yards with my Axiom, all from 15 to 20 ft treestands, and their isn't a lot of variation in the POI when they're out past 20 yards.

Re: AM or PM?
I prefer the afternoon. It's generally a little warmer. But I hate tracking after dark. Over the years, all my big bucks have been shot before noon. This year, I'll be spending a lot of time hunting mid day because I have to be at home for my daughter to catch the bus and get off the bus. This may p...

Re: Simms string leeches
Leeches kept coming off of my Axiom string, so I finally ditched them. Had the little round Limb Saver silencers on the limbs. Worked fairly well until one day I was practicing and the left one came off and hit me in the eye. Took me a few seconds to figure that one out  That's when I pulled ...

I've been using the 2" Quik Spin's for the last few years and love them. In fact, ever since I started using them, I haven't pulled out the Bitzenburger once!

That's a nice one!
So I'm guessing there's no video of the shot?

Re: Vacuum sealing testimonial
Wal-Mart carries a brand other than Food Saver. Can't remember the name, IIRC it comes in a purple and white box. A lot cheaper than FS and works just as good. I think maybe the brand is Sunbeam or something like that.

The $100 will be worth it. And if you were to get a better detector, you just might find another hobby that you love and one that keeps you outdoors!

Re: Target Recommendations
I have a Block and would NOT recommend it. I've lost a couple broadheads in that thing when trying to pull them out! Sure, they stop the arrow, but are a real pain pulling them out, even with field points. Buddy has the RhinoBlock and it's a different story. 'Stops BH's and they're easy to pull out....

Re: Scope Problems/Vibrations
I've had the scope that came on my Axiom when I bought it 4 years ago. I've probably shot this bow a couple thousand times and the scope hasn't wavered yet....*knockin on wood*
Keep thinking about a twighlight dlx, but this one just keeps on tickin'!

Re: $1.50 Fix
A few years ago I bought a Limb Saver bow grip wrap and wrapped it around the stirrup and it quieted my Axiom way down. It eventually came apart so maybe this year I'll try that rubber paint mentioned above

Re: What will his years excals look like?
Yeah, they're coming out with the Matrix 300. It's a 175 lb Matrix based on the 355 frame...maybe even more compact! It's designed for us treestand hunters who don't care about FPS. Okay, so that's my dream anyway. A short, compact 175 lb crossbow that is easier to maneuver in a treestand and doesn'...

Re: Shooting Distance
The question is not weather the bow can kill at a given distance it is can you. I have taken game at distance with gear that was chosen to do so and after lots of practice. Know you gear and know your limits. Only you can know what you can do with your gear. That said 50 yards is where I practice w...

Re: Store Bought Scents
I've been playing this game for a long, long time. And it comes down to this. If you're breathing, you're creating scent and there is NOTHING that is going to eliminate it. If you're breathing, your breath emits scent as does your body. (actually body oils and sweat allow bacteria to grow that emit ...

I wouldn't have a problem taking my Axiom with 125 grain G5 Strikers on a Moose hunt. I know any moose I wanted to take home would have a bad day!
