Re: Arrow swap question on my 380
Well, the insert advice didn't work. I tried a few different methothds and used the drill bit and the shaft split. I did find out the inserts were 92 grain instead of 80. The guys advertisement on eBay was way off. Looks like I will just go to a 125grain broadhead and be done with it. If I go with w...

Re: Arrow swap question on my 380
Thx for the replies. Are the .001 much better than the .003? And how hard are the factory installed 80gr inserts to get out?

Re: Arrow swap question on my 380
I use mechanical broadheads and mine will have 3" vanes instead of 2 according to the order description. I did order the 110gr inserts also. Are the .001 any better than the .003? I only hunt with mine so I'm not a big target shooter. The longest I have ever practiced is 60 yards. I can change ...

Re: Arrow swap question on my 380
Also I plan to use a lumenok. Would it be better to pull out the 80gr inserts and use 110gr? Would that be hard to do? Would I be better off to go with 125gr broadheads and leave the 80gr insert intact? Or would I be fine doing what I originally posted with the 80gr insert it comes with and using 10...

Arrow swap question on my 380
Last year was my first year to have my new matrix 380. When I ordered it I bought 20" arrows and was told they wouldn't hang over the foot stirrup with a broad head....not the case.. Anyway, I have been shooting the 20" firebolts with a 110gr brass insert and 100gr broadheads. I am thinkin...

Mattix 380. First miss. First kill
Last Saturday I had a doe about to turn broadside at 38yards. While getting ready to take the shot she looked up and seen me. She was almost facing me and with the drought I had been in and needing meat, I took a hard quartering shot hoping the matrix would be faster than she was. Well, it wasn't. C...

Re: Sighting in the matrix 380. PROBLEMS!!
UPDATE: Factory trigger was sent to Excalibur and found to have some problems. Excalibur sent me a new trigger and took a little extra care of it... Problem solved. Shooting 1/2" groups at 60 yards. That--- I can live with!

Re: Sighting in the matrix 380. PROBLEMS!!
My trigger is far from fine for hunting. It's had over 100 shots and still not any better. As I mentioned in the original post, I leveled the crosshairs on my scope prior to tightening everything. I rigged my own level on top of my munch mount which is perfectly level with the rest of the bow. I wou...

Re: Sighting in the matrix 380. PROBLEMS!!
I added the extra weight on my practice tips. From 100 to 125gr. I reset everything and got better groups today. It was windy but I was getting about 2-3" groups at 60yds. I haven't put the sticker on my dial yet because I want to make sure everything is just right before I do. I used a level t...

Re: Sighting in the matrix 380. PROBLEMS!!
The trigger is like pushing a big truck over a hill. Very hard to get it started. Then there is the build right before the crest, then the back wheels have to reach the top and then, and then, and then... It goes. My old Exomax trigger was 150x better than this trigger. Enough about that though.

Sighting in the matrix 380. PROBLEMS!!
Ok. I got my new matrix 380 a little while back but haven't had time to shoot it or sight it in until recent. First off, the worst trigger on anything I've ever shot with a trigger by far!!! The guy at woodys said he polished it up, if he did, I would hate to have shot it before! I mean... Just awfu...
