Re: Ontario Whitetail Deer Records

Dont worry....... I have only seen one buck on this board that was worthy of crossing in to your country[not shot in Ontario] Not worth the passport. Not worth hunting in Ontario, eh? I guess we'll just keep brutes like these to ourselves... http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj3/DirtyGun/December6...

Re: how many stop at timmies on the way hunting

When I worked shifts for the Region of Waterloo, Tim Hortons was a serious addiction. Had to get a coffee during shift...and during lunch. Night shift was the worst...ordered three coffees before shift and microwaved two of them during the night. Come to think of it...there's quite a bit more money ...

Re: O/T What do you do for fun?

When I'm not firing projectiles at game animals in season, I'm usually firing them at paper and metal targets with a handheld device. Getting back into pistol shooting after quite an absense and hope to get competitive again in the near future. My wife rolls her eyes...there goes more gas mon...

Re: Fraud Report

Just as an update, came across this regarding the phone number that was used: http://calgary.bizcaf.ca/Looking_for_212_hunting_property_bizcafAd_198862.dhtml A bow hunter looking for property in Calgary with the same phone number I was given regarding the fraudulent crossbow transaction? Interesting...

Re: My kingdom for a carbon matrix!

I've been wanting a new vertical compound myself. Don't know why though, my 1992 Darton Viper cans till put 'em down just fine. But I do have to admit, I've been looking at BowTech's and Mathews on ebay. I kinda like the Mathews Switchbacks...but then again I already have a bow... I have a Ma...

O/T Merry Christmas!

Yeah...it's early...but, it's December now, so it's acceptable. All the best from my family to yours! http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj3/DirtyGun/IMG_0398.jpg I'd be in the photo, but who needs my ugly mug among a couple little angels who both have a pink Vixen in their future. Enjoy the ...

Re: Man Killed with Crossbow in Toronto

I looked at the SUN online and I am not sure if they changed things but it states the correct law: According to the RCMP, "crossbows that can be aimed and fired with one hand and crossbows with an overall length of 500 mm or less are prohibited. You cannot lawfully possess or acquire a prohibi...

Re: Man Killed with Crossbow in Toronto

Here is the kind of non-sense that the media is already spewing: "It's definitely a unique situation," Const. Tony Vella said. "Where did he get this crossbow? That's something we're looking into ... you hear about guns, knives, but not crossbows." Crossbows over 500 mm in lengt...

Re: Crossbows Do Kill

That brings the total number of people murdered by crossbows this year in Canada to "1". I'm sure some Liberal politician will see a trend in that and call for stiffer laws. And the total number EVER to 2. Incident in Quebec a few years back left one dead as well. I do agree with t...

Re: carrots and/or corn as bait

Be careful using corn. What you may not realize is the corn that has been processed at the mill has a far different moisture content than the corn when it's on the stalk. What you may be doing by feeding deer the processed corn is giving them ruminitis, which has the possibility of rupturing their i...

Re: coyote licence

It's true up North, where you can purchase two game seals a season for the WMUs mentioned a couple posts up, but, down South, you're free to shoot as many as run in front of you. The new regs were put in place up North in order to protect wolf populations, since the MNR believed that wolves were bei...
