Congrats! What a nice looking buck! That's a beautiful rack. Bet his backstraps were tasty!

Also, hopefully WVA will come to their senses and permit crossbow hunting for everyone. Here in Iowa we have the same BS law... unless you have a disability.

I'm pretty sure you only need about 50 yards by 1 yard in order to make a hunt exciting!

:) Thanks! If only you could train deer to walk in a straight line!

Congrats on your first deer! Loved reading your story and viewing the pics.

I'm gently nudging my wife to deer hunt with me next year. The picture of you with holding your Vixen in front of your ground blind inspired her a bit more! :D

Nice! Nothing like your own land. Find a nice little spot and setup a natural food plot now and keep them coming for years to come. Happy planting. :) :) Thanks! Oh for sure. About twenty years ago we planted thousands of oak saplings as part of a local reforestation program. It was an awesome fami...

I bought a Summit Dagger this year. It's light and mobile and folds up quite flat. It doesn't have a shooting rail/climbing bar so it may require a bit more upper body strength to use. Congrats and thanks for the great story and for mentioning the "grunt stop trick". It stayed with me and I used it with success on my first buck and recovery was easy!

Thanks, Gary! That's good to know! I was hoping that this wasn't a one time thing... I actually watched another eight pointer make some rubs two nights ago.
