Last minute hunt - story

Should've sat in my stand tonite. After going deer-less so far this year, I had a chance at one tonite. After dinner 6:00 ish (kinda late to head out to the stand), I decided to go for a drive. I didn't get far, because as I pulled out of the driveway and rolled along a hay field next door (w...

Sharpening broadheads

How many people here sharpen thier broadheads before they go out hunting? I'm talking about new, out of the box heads. I use Slick Tricks and didn't see the need to sharpen them before I used them, and they performed flawlessly. Are there heads out there that must be sharpened before they are used t...

Claude, I'm sure one of you guys will run it over discing the food plot next year.

All joking aside, that's one of the reasons I switched back to alum's last year - god damn inserts. I also prefer the harder hitting aluminum bolts out of my Exocet.

I know in the states there are programs where venison can be used to help the hungry. Not sure if there's anything like this in Canada yet - too much politics in the way like usual, I'm sure. There is a guy here near where I live that was trying to start up Hunter's helping the Hungry, but I'...

Maybe put up an e-mail address where you can get letters. I'd be happy to send one off. I've used that range many times when I first got my Exocet.

A worthwhile cause for sure!!

If you're shooting a carved tip Exocet and replaced the string for the first time - you're doing pretty good. No string company's making money on you. I think mine used to sit around an inch from the riser. What's with the new string being an inch shorter though? Was the old one stretched that...

Great job Dave. No pressure for the rest of the season. :D

The bush still looks pretty green, eh? Not "autumn" looking at all. No wonder he snuck up on ya.

I hunt behind the house as well, so I take very little. Always a knife, flashlight and a 2-way radio, if my wife's going to be home.

Esox, I cut my own as well, and enjoy it. I've only done a handful of deer by myself so far, but find it very gratifying to know I've done everything. There is a guy I know who is a home butcher and I believe he charges 50 bucks. I'm not all that sure what the 50 gets me though. I am considering tak...
