Re: Phoenix broadhead/arrow combo??

Bowster, it's not new, but that spacer was sticking out a bit, so I just trimmed it flush. Thanks.

I will do some sighting in this weekend while I have daylight hours to play in. I still have my Exocet, so I won't have to stop hunting at least. :)

Is this the typical protocol for this scope? I got one on a Phoenix I bought and was wondering the exact procedure for "dailing in".

Re: Phoenix broadhead/arrow combo??

Thanks for the replies.

I think I will start with the arrows I've been using with my Exocet (2216's & 100gr Thunderheads) and go from there.

Re: Phoenix broadhead/arrow combo??

Funny you should mention that Vixenmaster. I very briefly shot carbons in my older Exocet many years(8ish)ago. I had one bust in a deer back then which caused me to return to aluminums. I have had this Phoenix for just 2 days. So I've had very little experimenting time thus far. It came with carbon ...

Re: Phoenix broadhead/arrow combo??

Has anyone had any issues with the Firebolts? A friend of mine has had consistency issues with them in the past. Was thinking of going to Gold tips instead. I don't have a whole lot of carbon arrow experience.

Re: Phoenix broadhead/arrow combo??

Well that's not what I wanted to hear. And it's certainly not the case with my Exocet. It shoots them well(Thunderheads). With aluminums, that is.

Phoenix broadhead/arrow combo??

Just picked up a Phoenix that came with Excal's Firebolts. It has a Vari-zone scope on it. I put my 100gr Thunderheads on and I am getting very inconsistent groups even at 20yds(shot 4 arrows). All bolts/screws are tight and the varizone is set slightly over 300. I get tight, tight groups with my ol...

Re: Ontario antlerless deer draw results are in folks...

I just don't know how ya'll do it waiting for a draw every year. Up until a couple years ago the antlerless draw here in 64A wasn't really a "draw", as you were usually 100% successful year after year. As far back as I've been hunting here anyways. Probably the same thing in many other un...

The bows are accurate, granted. But the shooter counts for more than a little.
