Just took a 4 pointer at 23 yards out of a tree stand, about 15 feet high. The broadhead was the ones that came with the Exomax I shoot (Wasp Boss 100 3 blade) and the exit wound was about 1 and 3/4" inch. As stated earlier though, shooting down through the vitals is better for a good blood tra...

Dissapator pads....how to tell when they need replacing?

Guys, how do you tell when your dissapator pads need replacing? I have the Exomax and unstrung it but didn't take the pads off, just plain forgot. Does that mean they're shot now? How do you tell when they need to be replaced? Thx Harry

Well done guy! Or should I say well done daughter?! I wish my daughters liked to hunt as much as I did but they only went with me a time or two and didn't like daddy killing things with "faces".

I think I'll reserve one too....maybe serial number 007 :D All kidding aside, that thing is sweet and I've wanted a wooden stock with a thumbhole for this last year. Maybe Santa will bring me one next year if I'm a good boy!

Dick, you're heading up here to TN, and I'm heading to south Alabama during the same time. My family owns a little over 1200 acres there and that's where I always hunt. If you see a vehicle loaded up with all sorts of hunting stuff (climbers, etc.) heading south down I-65 the day after Christmas, th...

I agree that a rangefinder might be helpful. I bought the cheap one at Bass Pro Shop and it's the Bushnell model for under $150. It has really been helpful especially in the dark deep woods of South Alabama where distance can be deceiving. Just my 2 cents worth. Harry

sorry but no pictures Tracer. It wasn't really that large a buck as it had a small rack (what we call "basket rack" in the deep South), it's the fact that I got one. If it had been an old doe, I would have been just as excited! I've got more confidence with this bow now that it's "pro...

death moan

Grizzly Adam: regarding the death moan, it's that deep moan with the dying breath an animal gives off. The only thing I can think of it sounds like is a Buddist priest as they meditate and they make a light version like this and it sounds like "auhmmmm". That's about the best I can tell yo...
