how to clean a xbow
just been reading the wax issue, seen a mention of (crud) getting in trigger. I have the vortex. how do you go about cleaning it and how often, seen nothing in user manual about cleaning. I own alot of rifles, do my own reloading, strip them down every fall after hunting season, clean them throughly...

thanks Bob. Curious why you use 125 gr slicktricks, I have the vortex 200lb, was told to use goltip laser II with brass inserts and 100 gr slikck tricks, is there an advantage to using a heavier arrow and how much does it effect longer distance.

whats that smell?
when I fire my vortex there is a smell almost like gunpowder. Is this normal? My buddy came over and shot his tenpoint, same smell. What is that? Are we doing something wrong. ![Confused :?](./images/smilies/icon_confused.gif)

new to bow hunting but maybe an answer. I am a engine tech, know what heat can do to metal, it can expand it, just a guess but try put up some shade so the xbow rail is not in the sun. might be deflecting your rail slightly.
