The Rut Is On - Buck Down.

Well it has been a while since I have posted here. I have been spending all of my spare time in the bush, no time to keep updated on the forum. To all of those who have harvested deer congratulations, and all of those still hunting best of luck. Now for the best part of my post, my story! All season...

What have you been seeing?

Well I was able to make it home for the opener and was also able to drop a nice big doe opening morning. I have hunted quite a bit lately. I have been hunting two properties, one which is mostly bean and corn fields with a small bedding area just off of the property and the other is a 50 acre proper...

I did know him and his family. I dated one of his daughters back in high school and knew him through the hunting community. LockDown you are right, he did pass due to an aneurysm. It is a very sad time for the family and the close friends. My condolences go out to everyone that knew him in one way o...

Looks like I have figured out the picture. However I was not planning on trying out the fall hunt. I do not know if they offer it in my area. I'll have to look into that. I have been watching the turkeys all summer and the population is doing very well.

It's Been A While...

Well it has been a very busy summer for me and I have not been able to keep up on the forum. I hope everyone is healthy and doing alright in these tough economic times. On to hunting, this past spring I had one of the best turkey seasons I have ever had. Came home for the opener, first we saw a big ...

A friend of mine broke his leg playing hockey, and still managed to climb the ladder stand and harvest a deer before making his way to school earlier this year. All the while his leg was in a cast.

Where there is a will there is a way. Glad to hear your alright.

My Season Thus Far...

Well, I am finally done my exams and now have some time to post my experiences thus far in the season. I started the season by harvesting a basket rack 8 point with my PSE Mach 5. This was the first buck I had harvested with this bow. It was early in the season and I had came home for a weekend of h...

I agree. I love hunting in december, best sound in the world is the sound of the snow falling. Its nice to sit in the bush and watch it become enveloped in a sea of white. I have been making the hour drive home for the past 3 or 4 weekends just to hunt. Generally when i get home i get right in the s...

Second Rut in Southern Ontario..

Anyone have any idea when the deer will be coming into the second rut in Southern Ontario?

I was home last weekend and the bucks were following the does, that leads me to believe that it will be soon.

Anyone have any ideas?

Good luck to all still trying to fill tags.

Its so true health is all we have. This past summer i lost a close friend of mine in a tragic car accident, still dont know how to deal with it. Only thing i can do is live everyday to its fullest, the way he'd want me to live it. Many on here work through their problems and all i can do is respect ...
