OUCH. I have never broken a toe but I too have had turf toe as Mike mentioned (very painful) and I have broken fingers, but that looks a lot more painful.

OUCH! I too have done this. I'd still rather take the pain of hitting my own thumb over the pain of hearing a dry fire.
